Ed001 if your about mate. What do you think is the situation with luke shaw? Is he injured at the moment and unavailable or is he just not getting picked? There appears to be conflicting reports.
Do you think he will fulfil his potential at United?
Is appreciate reading your opinion

{Ed001's Note - last I heard he had a slight niggle that they were being careful with. Groin I think it was. However Jose does not like his attitude and wants him to pull his socks up.

It is hard to see him fulfilling his potential, purely because he does not work hard enough on his own. Lacks self discipline and drive. He really needs a good kick up the arse, imo. However, if anyone can get him going it will be Mourinho.}

I've said for a while I think he has a poor attitude. He doesn't keep himself in good shape. He always look overweight. I think he has potential to be world class, but without the full commitment needed he won't realise it. If there's one man who can get that out of him it's Jose. Fingers crossed the penny drops otherwise i think he'll be out the door sooner rather than later

He's another one with a poor attitude. Mourinho, like Fergie, wants 11% commitment from players. Unfortunately, not all have the mentality, intelligence or will to do this.
I've said for some time that he's completely overrated. A player cannot be judged solely on his ability. Mentality, commitment and attitude are what separates the ordinary from the top players. And Shaw is extremely ordinary. I don't think he's got it in him to beat top player.

Thanks ed. It really is down to himself. I hope it's not a case of another young player getting too much too soon and thinking they have made it before they actually achieve anything. I'm hoping the tough love Jose is giving him will have the dame affect it had in miki and Jones for example.

{Ed001's Note - he certainly has the talent. Best young left back I have seen at professional level. Just needs to regain his drive and hunger.}

He never seems to be close enough to his man a lot of the time which was also pointed out by Mourinho publicly in one game. That would suggest, fitness, concentration or attitude issues like Ed said.

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate. He is coasting and it is a shame.}

20 Jan 2017 16:04:22
Schmid, I don't agree with that. I think he could be the best LB in the world, that's how much talent I think he has. It's wether or not the penny drops and he realises he can't go home from training via the kebab house every day like I do.

20 Jan 2017 16:40:08
It's easy for us to sit here and judge but we don't know the full ins and outs. Hopefully Jose and the senior players are in his ear and trying to get him on the right path

20 Jan 2017 17:40:44
I hope Jose is helping shaw recover from that horrible injury. but he better step up sooner rather than later or he will be out on is ear. I hope that won't be the case as he has all needed to become a top LB.

{Ed025's Note - everything except self discipline angel..

20 Jan 2017 18:45:32
once he is over his injuries and gets a run of games he will be fine .

20 Jan 2017 19:10:43
Only 11%, NM? :)

20 Jan 2017 18:49:51
Well I've only heard and read things about him ed25. Is he really that bad? If so there is no excuse. He gets paid a lot of money to do a job. If he can't do it, we all know what Jose will do.

{Ed025's Note - he is the stereotypical kevin from kevin and perry angel, lazy young man who thinks he can eat and drink what he wants, he is overweight and needs to sort himself out or he will be out on his ear mate..

20 Jan 2017 19:46:41
have you not seen kieran tierney ed001?

{Ed001's Note - Tierney is excellent, I agree, but Shaw was a truly exceptional talent. The difference is Tierney is working and improving, Shaw is coasting and regressing. There is no question I would take Tierney over Shaw right at this moment.}

run of games under his belt wait and see how quick peoples opinions change

20 Jan 2017 21:42:20
Interesting to know ed25. I think people seem to drag up his injury and use that as an excuse. Where I think going by what the Eds and othersee have said he was lazy before and lazy after. It was a horrible injury but can't be used an excuse for his lifestyle especially prior. or am I wrong?

{Ed025's Note - your right mate..

20 Jan 2017 23:13:29
Jred, if he gets his act together we have all said he can be world class. So saying we'll change our opinion is pretty obvious. But you can't hide behind an injury forever. It's not all down to that. The lads overweight constantly. He is not 100% commited to the cause.

Good post stand. Fair point mate

For me i saw this coming. He was lazy in his first season and not that great. So eveyone puts it down it he's young and it's his first season. He was loosing his man at most corners and stuggling in my opinion in general. Then we have his 2nd season when he puts in extra training and gets himself in tip top shape. First question i would ask is why was this not done in his first season? He then preforms much better and looks a player until his terrible injury so not his fault. However the reports were he was fit long before the end of last season and was held back to get him fit for this season. Great idea we say, until we see him this season unfit fat and slow compared to how quick he can be. We can't keep blaming his injury for not preforming. He has all the tools to be a great player but his attitude doesn't seem quite right.
When did i see it coming i hear you ask? When he takes a small tap on the nose against someone (the game escapes me) and to my amazement he goes off the pitch. Ok not everyone can be like Bruce, Keane, Moran, Robson and co and play through injures i thought. That was until he missed the next game too with a tap on the nose. It says it all really in my opinion. Some players have a great attitude and will run through brick walls to help the team but Shaw is not one of them unfortunatley. let's hope Jose can turn him around otherwise he will be left on the side or leave.
