and equalled the all time goal record .

Missed 1st post what could be wrong with recognising rooney getting the record.
I hope with than monkey of his back he can play with more freedom. It liked to me to be making him a bit tense in his last couple of appearances. Which is only natural.
The first 8 years were trophy laden it would be nice if he could see a trophy rush at the end of his united career too.

I think when you used the word hate jred it might have confused some posters as I don't think it's hate that rooney receives. Just a disdain for his performances in recent years and being seemingly undroppable. Warranted IMO

Unfortunately that's a metaphor that has been used by many people many different times. I wouldn't say it insinuates hate, just a very strong possibly harsh metaphor.
I think your post was taken down because it was prompting another rooney debate and to be honest we have had too many of those of late. I think we should just enjoy what he is doing now and thank him when he is gone.

A huge achievement which many great goal scorers before him have failed to get near. The fact Rooney is such a unselfish player makes this an even greater achievement, imo. Sure he's in decline and will never rediscover his best form but he's given us all many reasons to be happy for more than a decade and he deserves appreciation and respect for that.
