If he is telling the truth jred. Tells us that he trusts what he has got at his disposal and to be honest Jones nor rojo have put a foot wrong. They've stepped up.

i don't think we should be trusting jose on his words, ed002 clearly stated we are trying to sign lindelof, add to that there have been reports from sweden that benfica and visteras or whatever the club name is who sold lindelof to benfica have sorted out their sell on clause issues and i saw a tweet from lindelof's girlfriend which looked like they were clearly shifting, too much coincidence for something not to be happening.

The thing is if he is lying, people will excuse it by saying it was a "negotiating tactic". I can appreciate that from a business perspective, but ultimately it proves that you can't believe a single thing we are told as interested supporters. It kind of defeats the point of listening to a managers' statement because you never know if he means it or if it's for a hidden agenda - thus making any statement irrelevant to us.
Boy who cried wolf. The game is full of it, no morals, no decency, literally no accountability - just waiting to be lied to by people we are meant to support and fans actually support that in turn or defend it, messed up if you ask me!
I just wish us fans could hold people accountable for their words and actions. At the end of the day we are just a means to an end, we deserve some respect, the media and sycophants may enjoy being messed with, but I don't and the more business rules honesty, the more it divides.

Jose is not going to come out and blatantly say we need this player and that player. By saying no one comes in, it shows confidence in the players he already has.
If a player does come in, he can say it was a deal he couldn't refuse.
It works well both ways. Nothing to do about lieing to us, he is protecting his own squad. I'm good with that

Guys you can't expect him to come out and tell the wider public what their transfer plans are.
This is a dog eat dog business with millions at stake and it's full of sharks. Until a deal is signed and sealed they are right to keep it as quiet as possible. There will be signings in jan and it goings no doubt in my mind. Jose will say what suits him and we should expect no different. No proper business tells is opposition is strategic plans in advance

Exactly why we should not even bother considering what the club reps say. We are the recipient of lies and half truths in the interests of business. It's the old bluff, double bluff, triple bluff, etc etc, and we are stuck there debating the unknown. Best to just debate and ignore the club as an arbitrator as they can't be trusted.

The media should ask their questions, then when caught out lying later down the line, the same media should highlight the lie and then not bother asking that person questions again because they can't believe the answers.
I think us fans should ignore the media for this precise reason. We simply don't know what to believe so we may as well use our own imaginations.

Just addressing the issue, and I am consistent on it. I don't understand the point of listening to the manager if you can never tell if he is telling the truth or not. Not having a go at Jose, it's virtually all of them. Defeats the point in taking the time to bother to read/ watch what they have to say.

I don't watch the press conferences anymore, can't be arsed with it. I'd rather spend time listening to ed002's info and watching the games. The rest of the media bull, and anything that comes from the club, other than an actual announcement, I take with a pinch of salt.
