I was thinking about what moves Mourinho might make in the transfer window and wondered whether Willian was someone that we were looking at.
He seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea even though he was there player of the season last year.
I appreciate that he has not always been popular on here but he seemed to work well under Mourinho previously and for me it is sometimes about getting the right players for the manager. not just the best players.
Just a thought anyway.

i think we have enough average wingers in the squad no need to buy more of them especially at high price.

This is coming from a Chelsea fan. I'd take damn near every single winger/ attacker of yours over Willian. Maybe not Lingard, though there isn't much difference between the two.
I like Willian, he gives his all and seems like a genuinely nice guy. He's got quick feet and a good technique, but he doesn't seem to have the footballing intelligence to use them.

I like willian, he's a decent player. But at his age he will want to be first choice, so who do you drop? MKkhitaryan? Martial? Rashford? Even Lingard has been solid.
Or do we change our shape again and drop one of Carrick, Herrera or Pogba?
I don't see the point in spending large sums of money on a winger atm. There are other positions we need to prioritise, defence and a long term replacement for Carrick should be sorted first.

I think we will sign a centre back most likely Lindeof, get rid of some deadweight in January
Think this summer will be when we start to make the big changes within the club, I expect a good 4-5 signings to replace 4-5 players being sold.

Thanks for your thoughts chaps. It was off of a conversation I was having about Martial potentially being loaned/ sold to Sevilla (since knocked back by Ed002 which I am pleased about) . Was thinking who we could bring in.
I agree on a lot of what you all say. however I actually think he is a bit underrated. Agree he is not in the world class bracket but sometimes players work best with certain managers and thought he did well under Mourinho previously.

Shane88, as opposed to the previous three summer transfer windows where we haven't made big changes?
Weve brought in 20/ 25 players and sold a similar amount in the past 3 years and its proven not to be the cure we all hoped it would be.
Maybe a quiet summer without a tournament where mourinho can have the full squad in for pre season along with a new centre back we are going to sign.

Tbh DSG I'm a fan of the Fergie Policy, bringing youth through and complementing then with quality promising signings (Rooney, Ronaldo, Carrick)
However since Fergie retired we have adopted more of a buying policy, I expect it to carry on this summer.

United are going in for a right back, Nelson from Benfica. If that happens, then I can see Jose pushing Valencia to right wing when he needs him.
