Another 3 points in the bag which is important to keep the momentum going. We need to make sure we take 3 more on saturday to keep the pressure on those above us. First half yesterday we were poor, you could feel the frustration in the ground building, and the timing of Blinds goal was very important. We seemed to sit off them a lot and played very deep which I found suprising. Me and my mate were discussing wether it was due to defoe's pace, that they would rather face him than leave space in behind. Either way it was a poor first half, slow, lethargic and just not zipping the ball about. We both said the introduction in Mikhi and Martial would change the whole dynamic of the game and so it proved. Zlatan was frustrating, though not the only one, with poor touch and poor finishing, yet he has one of his poorer games and ends up with a goal and 2 assists. Pretty much says it all about the man really, brilliant player and massively important. Seeing Mkhitarians goal from the stretford end was brilliant, looks a little genius. If he continues the way he has been playing he could be up there with the Hazards, Sanchez and Coutinhio's and be a vital match winner for us. Anyway, another 3 points, more improvement in certain areas, and onto Boro.

Very early days but mkhitaryan reminds me of de bruyne in the way he passes/ crosses early before the defence is set and finds little pockets in between the lines.

Provides the perfect link between the midfield three and zlatan.

De Bruyne with pace.

27 Dec 2016 17:16:05
Sorry guys but Savage says Mikki is better than DB.

So what certain areas do we need to improve on, the ground was getting frustrated, you and your mate knew the 2 changes that would change the game. the goal was special from the strefford end.
I was in old trafford and i know more than everyone else, you should have mentioned it a few more times in your post,
Ive been to old trafford twice in the last 12 months and i don't mention it on here cause there's no need to. and i have a bit of travelling to do.
Thats the way your posts come across to me. imo.

Leahy, as usual I have no idea what your going on about. I said we had more improvement in certain areas, mainly I was thinking Pogba is improving week on week and the same with Mikhi with every game. I'm pretty sure no one would disagree that the first half was laboured and the play needed quickening up, also pretty sure most would have agreed with the introduction of martial and Mikhi would probably inject that bit of pace and flair we were lacking in the first half. Also, nearly staying the finish for Mikhitarian goal looked even better in the flesh. What exactly is your point?

27 Dec 2016 20:35:46
Leahy,

What the hell man? Totally needless and uncalled for, the OP wasn't like that at all, and as the game wasn't on TV yesterday (in England anyway) being at the game was the best way to watch the full 90 minutes. I agree with the whole of the OP, I was also at the game in the Stretford end, not bragging though.

Best goal I've seen at OT since Rooney's overhead.

27 Dec 2016 20:29:41
I hope no Leah may be suggesting, with all due respect, a sense of smart arse here. Just saying.

27 Dec 2016 20:56:40
Gds2 of course you were there,
Thought you were in the nort east quadrant.

27 Dec 2016 21:11:39
Stand, I agree re the first half. Even Jose said so. But we came out 2nd half and played very well. And should've scored more. Pogba is an amazing player, the only thing missing is his composure in front of goal. He gets in brilliant positions but wastes the chances.
I've been saying for some time that we didn't have a game changer in our team in the mould of Sanchez, hazard, coutinho and Silva. But not any more, mhkitaryan certainly has the skill, speed, trickery, passing ability to match all the above.
One other thing, every one of Jose's signings has been top class and have improved the team. Shows what a great manager he is. Compare that to the likes of fellaini Rojo Depay darmian like, di Maria, Falcao and you realise how much money was wasted by the brilliant Moyes and the overconfident lvg. And to compound things, we allowed Welbeck and Chicaritto to leave as well. It is pathetic.

27 Dec 2016 21:18:05
Smart ass? Really? Making the point that the extra pace Mikhi and martial bring to the side, and how good it was to be there to see one of the best goals you'll see this season makes you a smart ass? Jesus Christ wonder why I bother posting sometimes.

27 Dec 2016 21:32:51
Stand,

Ignore it mate, you are one of the better posters on here and give good insight, no idea where the negativity has come from about this post, sounds like people are jealous that you went to the game, there were a few empty seats so everyone could have gone if they wanted to.

Leahy, if you're going to be a smart arse at least remember where I said I sat the last time you started getting annoyed at people going to the match.

27 Dec 2016 21:34:27
Agree schmid, things are looking up. All four signing are now doing very well, and other players such as Rojo and jones have improved tenfold. I think over the next 18 months we'll see the weaker players leave, and trust Jose to bring in the quality we need. So much more enjoyable to watch than in the previous 3 seasons, that's for sure. I think Pogba is top class, and improving all the time. His range of passing is unbelievable. When he gets more consistency to his game with time, he'll be one hell of a player. The three of Hererra, Carrick and Pogba compliment each other perfectly.

Gds2 the box with the prawn sandwiches and champagne was it.
Myself i'd love to go to an away game with the proper fans, is there any chance with your contacts that you could get me an away ticket sometime.
Maybe we could go together.

27 Dec 2016 23:36:30
Oh dear.

27 Dec 2016 23:41:45
Pretty difficult to get them for myself unfortunately mate, applied for every game this season and not got any. Interesting you say the proper fans go to away games, what makes somebody a proper fan, getting pissed up and running on the pitch when we score, or just loving the team you support and wanting them to win whether you are there or not like most people on here?

Hoping to get one for the Hull 2nd leg but not likely at the current rate of success!

28 Dec 2016 02:13:18
I don't drink myself gds2,but i would like to go to one as i have never been, and when united fans that go to away games they make a lot of noise and sound passionate and i would like to sample that before i leave this planet.

28 Dec 2016 18:27:14
Well this post turned went in a very unexpected direction!

I don't c any wrong in what stand-united wrote in the OP. or what GDS2 added to it.

just looks like somebody getting abuse from his own fans, maybe i read it wrong?
