What the hell was that all about, with the City players wearing shirts with Gundogan's name on them? Talk about overwrought silliness. #ripgundogan.

In all fairness, we did the same for Alan Smith. Just shows a bit of solidarity which is missing too much in football these days.

Nonsense. I remember our team doing it for alan smith years ago at a league cup final. Cringey.

Paddy powers twitter was hilarious about the whole thing yesterday, it was ridiculous.

If i were kompany i would be unhappy with that, a guy is there for 4 months and he gets t shirts, that poor man has been their pl winning captain and nothing for him.

I've no problem with it in principle, but if they are going to do that every time Gundogan gets injured then they might as well remove the shirt sponsor and replace it with a "get well soon Gundogan" logo. Seriously the guy hasn't gone more than 3 months without an injury for over 4 years. I'm sure they guy is used to being injured by now.

James, I still think it's silly whether we did it for our player or not. It's a non-career threatening injury to a player who'll continue to be handsomely rewarded, not a tragedy. As I recall, he was injured when they bought him, so why not shirts then? Where do we draw the line? How serious does the injury have to be?

Save these gestures for actual tragedies. I thought the send ups were hilarious. Loved the, 'Gundogan, born 1990. Injured 2016'. Crazy stuff.

Shall we start one for Jones, Smalling, Shaw. We can then rotate them from one week to another.
As Stevie says, it is a bit pathetic. The guy had an injury and he'll be back in a few months. There's a lot worse going on in the world that warrant these guys attention, I think Aleppo comes to mind right now.

Well Said SchMidfield, totally agree with you.

Just media hungry people lost in the world of fake morality.

Deep, Beast. Deep, man.

With Alan Smith that was post match dedicating the win to him in the league final. Not walking out to kick off a league game.

Herbie. Some of these players are so detached from real life it's ridiculous. Which makes me appreciate others like Hererra who are well grounded and down to earth.

Fair play to Gundogan tweeting that everything was ok, and that he was still alive :)
