We can say what we like but most of the players aren't good enough.
Martial was good last year not this year,
Blind isn't a cb, jones has done well the last few games not good enough for united.
Darmian not good enough;rojo not good enough, what's up with shaw, rashford will be good in the future don't know about lingard, zlatan is he past his best, then we have the boys nearing the end rooney, carrick, valencia,
Pogba hasn't found his feet yet.
Not an easy fix this.

Glass really is half empty this morning isn't it?

You're right: not an easy fix, will take a year or two at least.

Maybe our best hope for Champions League is to go all out for the Europa League.

Long way to go yet still everyone, still another 5 months of Football, we are 11 points behind, it's achievable but we really need to start picking up the 3 points consistently, we not playing bad generally however we lacking that killer instinct to finish teams off, best bet we work with what we have and have faith that they can find that instinct towards the end of the season, buying players will not solve the situation just create a distraction.

Ashley young and memphis to the rescue.

It's hard to fix things if you keep changing things that worked. Somebody needs to take Jose to task about the changes he made from Thursday and his antics that possibly mean he misses a few games on top of him not being able to transact effective change yesterday.

I agree there are a lot of problems Leahy, but with the money spent, the time he had to plan for this season and the fact teams with new managers look better and more cohesive than us, tells me it's been a disaster so far.

The stars of last year look like shadows of their former selves, the new super stars look like shadows of their former selves. Sorting this out quickly is why he is one of the most highly paid managers in the world. If we had Giggs in charge I would expect this so far, but with Jose it's been an epic failure so far. Most of the better performers this year are the ones he arguably wanted to phase out as well (Mata, Herrera, Carrick) . Not good at all.

Who could have possibly foretold that the young players such as Rashford, Martial and Shaw would stuggle under Mourinho?

28 Nov 2016 12:41:21
The answer to Shappy's question is. Shappy.

28 Nov 2016 13:29:52
Shappy, that's a bit unfair. Rashford has been given loads of chances as has Martial. Mourinho can't go on the pitch and play for them. Rashford missed another sitter yesterday, what is Mourinho supposed to do about that?
Martial's personal life is getting in the way, Mourinho has already taken him to task about this.
Shaw has got a problem, he had a bad injury. He was already pulled to task about his weight by United and the England coaching staff. I don't think he is mentally up to the job at present.
Lingard is getting plenty of starts and doing well.
So not sure what else Mourinho is supposed to do with the young players?

GDS technically it's one third full. we are playing better football but that needs to be tempered with fact that if we carry on as we are we will be in the bottom half in Jan. A draw is closer to a loss than a win . Rash and ibra are just not doing it and Jesse will never be a number 10. The technical skill diff between him and Mika is alarming for English football. Don't think it would take much in Jan to make a real difference .

Dont care about his antics beast i like the passion and the last comment i didn't really read, but you are right in the changes comment, bang on the money.

Why change a really good formula from thursday, we played really well thursday and then he changes it and it breaks. Its been happening week in, week out.

I think wednesday the fluid forward line will be picked once more, and we will beat west ham easily.

I fear he is going for the Cups this season to get us into the champions league, its a dangerous game he's playing.

28 Nov 2016 14:06:49
FZZ - Yes mate I think we will see our 'Midweek Team' again on Wednesday and we will hammer the Hammers. I don't think he is choosing the cups over the league, it's just a case of that's all we are being left with.

Easy to say after the event that you weren't focused on something if you miss out. He is not allowed to not focus on the league, so some fans will kid themselves that he is making cups a priority as it helps explain the league form, but in reality he is just not achieving.

When Liverpool go through a bad patch and Klopp carries on with his antics we will all start hammering him because it looks pathetic. Only works if you are doing well and if justified, what he did for the Pogba scenario was a huge over reaction no matter how it is dressed up, you'd expect it for a disallowed goal, or really bad challenge, not a dive in a non-threatening position, even if he thought it was a foul. It's erratic behavior, like our team selection and performances - not passion in my eyes!

Shaw is not struggling because of Jose he is struggling because he is not fit neutrally or physically. He is in our physical condition and his head is not in The right place at the moment. The sooner he improves on both fronts the better he has bags of ability so when he is right be will be a big asset but it's up to him now to get in shape and win his place back.

{Ed025's Note - its that bloody money thing again ken, young guy on £100k a week, dolly bird on his arm and living in a mansion, hes set for life so wheres the motivation to get off his big fat arse and get fit?..maybe im just very cynical mate?..

Spot on ed too much too soon. I've said it before too many young players think they have made it when they get their bumper contact when in fact they have achieved nothing yet.

{Ed025's Note - and never likely to unless they change their attitude ken..
