Hi guys,
Some great posts on here this weekend, I haven't been on here as much recently but really starting to feel positive about the way we are heading.
As I was coming out of the stadium on Saturday I said to my mate 'I wonder who the first person will be to say 'Moyes and lvg beat Arsenal at home and mourinho didn't'' Reading the site earlier and I see that from Beast. I'm sure it was slightly tongue in cheek but if people can't see the difference between this United and the United of last season they are mad.
The league table doesn't lie and therefore so far the results have not been good enough, but apart from the odd poor performance here and there we have actually been pretty good this season. We aren't the finished article but I think Jose is starting to find something that works, I thoroughly enjoyed the game yesterday and was devastated as I thought we fully deserved it and didn't get the win, how many times did we say that last season?
I can see a run of results coming at some point, we aren't far from it clicking, we might strengthen further in January and really go for it, I just hope we haven't let ourselves get too far back. The last 3 home games should have all been comfortable victories and have ended in draws, let's hope later in the season we have games that should have been draws that end up in victories.
The problem over the last few years has been the lack of chance creation, it's been said many times on here any striker was set up to fail, we haven't given any striker enough chances to score, but this season that has all changed, the chances are there, many of the clear cut chances, and if we start to put them away somebody is going to be on the end of one hell of a beating, and hopefully that confidence will begin a run, a run that needs to come sooner than later if we are going to challenge for top 4.

If we continue to play as we are and hopefully continue to improve, at least Arsenal and Spurs will be there for the taking come squeaky bum time if not before.
Our turn will come to get the rub of the green.
This season IS very different. Some still have "eyes that cannot see"!
This from a very critical observer from last season.

GDS2 didn't you come on here constantly for the last 3 seasons always yelling about how much you enjoyed going to the matches, getting behind grandad Louis and the great atmosphere that was created by the Dutch overlord?

Is it possible that you can enjoy going to the match/ enjoy a match day but not enjoy the actual game that's played?
I love match day, from a young kid to today at a ripe old age of 35! Even under Moyes i looked forward to it but i didn't like most of what i saw on the pitch.

I have a feeling we might be too far back now to push for the title this season, I like what Jose is doing though and can see we are on to something good. 74 shots to 18 in the last 3 home games and the aggregate score is 2-2. I am guessing we didn't have 74 shots at home in all of last season. It's actually my dad but thought I would make myself sound popular, you and 007 caught me out ;)

Yea I enjoy matchday but I kind of meant the football we are playing, at times last season I nearly fell asleep, the football was so poor and the crowd was dead, it doesn't feel like that this time around, people can see what we are doing, it's a good atmosphere and nobody is on the players backs if they make a little mistake.

It's ok mate you were polite about it, the build up and meeting my mates (more than one! ) is always great, but the day feels much better when we play good football or win or both.

Ed, I think Herbie was defending GDS, mate. Think he was referring to the banter as opposed to GDS, when he said, 'same old same old'. I could be miles out, though, and Herbie is actually a really nasty piece of work, as opposed to the chilled-out turtle dude from Finding Nemo, that I always imagine him as :)

Yep. Herbie is one of the guy's on here I'd like to go for a drink with, too. Though, I'd probably end up tied up in an Amsterdam basement, with a massive dose of the munchies, wondering where my clothes were.

Haha yes I believe herbie was being nice as per usual, I love this site have been coming on for years since we didn't even have log ins and it's grown into something pretty cool, there are just a few posters that make it impossible to make a point sometimes. It's not banter to suggest I am lying because you misunderstood a previous post Leahy, and no apology but wouldn't expect anything less. I'm not responding to Maze's nonsense either :)
I'm in the north west quadrant simon, I guarantee we have at least been in the same building a few times this year, I can't remember all 75000 by face though, keep an eye out on Thursday, I'll have a United shirt, big coat, wooly hat and 2 pairs of gloves!
