Just looking at that league table and its bleak its like being transported back to the 80's although after some of the recent performances i think i'd rather big Ron at the helm.

So having 37 shots against burnley creating chance after chance but couldn't score and a similar story against stoke and a bad performance against fenerbache away are bad 1980's performance, weren't many clamouring for better football not just victories now people get them and people whine about results, oh look at the table mourinho is a loser, sack him sack him now.

Oh Jaime

Were you around in the Atkinson era? I remember it well, played some decent football at times and just fell away. I stood on the Stretford End when we used to sing "we're going to win X all again, Atkinson". We would flatter and the Scousers would win. Much rather have a winner for a manager.

So would I, Red Man. Do you know any? :)

Ha Stevie, perhaps we should stop looking at cows in other fields for the time being.

how many new players do we need?

I loved Big Ron. Was it '85 when we won our first 10 games but ended up finishing third? Such a shame as we played with 2 wingers and went for it. We sold Hughes to a0Barcelona and won only one game after Christmas. Sometimes it's fine lines.

Yeah. I think we finally came unstuck against the mighty Luton Town or someone like that. Listening on the aul transistor radio. Everton went on and won it that season. If only it had been three points for a win back then.

We did Stevie. That year we finished third in a two horse race.

I was at Luton for that 11th game in 85, we won the first 10 games but drew with Luton. There was a lot of frustration that season because they could play entertaining stuff but lose key games. Rons teams were entertaining but weak in terms of self discipline, off the pitch as well. I liked the Doc more, now that was entertaining football yet we will never know if he could have won the league after 77. I wouldn't swap either of them for SAF or Mourinho (at this point) .

ron was a fit robson off the title.
