Mourinho contributed to the loss. Lingard and Rashford were effectively wingbacks.
Smalling given his experience looks like a rabbit in the headlights. Valenica and Blind aren't defenders. Naturally they will struggle from time to time.
With Rojo infuriating and as much use as a chocolate fireguard and Jones never leaves the physio room a defender in January is a must. Especially if Bailly injury is bad and / or he goes to ACON if he gets fit again.
That leaves us with TFM, Tuanzebe and Williams as out alternative options.
I just hope Mourinho doesn't think Fellaini can do a job in defence. Carrick has played their in emergency but his lack of pace when played there causes more problems for us.
Will things go from bad to worse or is this just a blip? time will tell.

Id rather play TFM and Tuanzebe at Cb now, how worse could it get?

The team was set up to contain like against Liverpool. When we conceded after 30 seconds that plan was shot, but the players didn't know what to do. That's what cost us, and by the time we had found a plan b we were two down and they could just hit us on the break. Jose is a very simple manager, when it works it works, but when it doesn't it can completely implode.

We needed 2 CBs in the summer. Especially if one was going to have some time out in AFON.
We have ONE decent recognised CB.
We have Blind who can do a job there.
We have Carrick who has done a job there in the past.
Jones, Rojos AND Smalling are all not good enough.
This is not exactly shock news.
