Fosu mensah/ tuanzebe for bailly as smalling and blind should be dropped because if not it send out the message that that type of performance is acceptable.
As ed004 said i'd like to see an energetic front 3 so we can press city much like southampton did today.
{Ed004's Note - And what happens if the two youngsters can't cope with the most dangerous attack in the league? I could see that destroying their confidence. Today was a bad result but we are not in the position to drop half the team especially if Bailly has a bad injury}

Hopefully not Ed, I'd save Rashford Martial Pogba etc also give Zlatan the day off too. We need to focus on the league, a lot of catching up to do 😒 Cannot afford any more slip ups!
Jose should use this opportunity to give the likes off Schneiderlin Depay Mkhi game time. Also blend In Some of the young talent coming up, i'd love to see Angel Gomes making his debut at 16. The boy is amazing, he is truelly special. It's like a young Scholes but with bags of tricks.

if we are going to play with a 10 i would play mata at the moment .
so if carrick plays it between herrera and pogba .
not sure miki has done much to get in the starting 11.

Tough on ed because i don't see smalling or blind coping any better to be perfectly honest.
Burnley would probably be a better game to throw one of them in though.

I hope shaw comes in ed but I can't see it as today when bailly went off he could of put shaw on then with blind going to centre back but chose to put rojo at left back instead of shaw. Shows got to be 1st choice.

I hope he plays a second string as some of the players could do with a rest and focus on upcoming league games, which i would be disappointed if we don't win the next 4 and would not be too far off the top.
It will be close but I would not mind if we get knocked out. Its a meaningless cup and we already have the europa league games to deal with.
There is a case of overreaction when you lose by the scoreline we did. It was one of those days where the best goalie in the world does something unbelievably poor in the first minute of a very tough away fixture, which historically has always been a tough place for us, even during the glory days of Fergie and then a second goal which is like playing pinball that is a sitter.
After that we were just there for the taking on the counter and they have some of the best players in the league for that.
