Jred very good point about Pep being new to the PL and has a whole team of new players yet he has managed to get them playing good football.

How long is this "we have new players" and "we are still in transition" going to last? Pep has an entire team of new players to coach in a league foreign to him, likewise for Poch last season yet they were never "in transition".

I am sick and tired of excuses we have a great squad, the worlds most expensive footballer, the PL's active current top goalscorer, the best goalkeeper in the PL by a country mile and one of the most decorated managers in modern history.

I think United will get three points against Chelsea today but if they come unstuck with a point hopefully it will be a point worth talking about in terms of a great overall entertaining performance.

To be fair pochetino had a season to settle in where spurs came 5th/ 6th but he was able to get rid of the bad egos in the dressing room like soldado, adebayor, kaboul, paulinho.

This enabled him to bring through the youngsters like kane, dier etc without any real pressure.

Im sure that had a lot to do with their success in spurs second season.

Also klopp last season had bright sparks but it was marred with inconsistency. A year later and they have gotten consistency in their play and results.

So i'd rather give jose that time than judge him after 8 league games.

Maze I both agree and disagree. He has got them playing to a clear system whereas Jose hasn't managed that yet but I think they had a better and more settled squad. He also has one way of playing whilst I think Jose is still figuring out the best system. City haven't won for 4 games so despite their fast start they are stuttering right now.

I'm not sure what will happen today but I expect us to start to roll over 'lesser' teams and put a run together. We have to be patient, we have had 3 pretty poor years and have brought in a Manager with an unrivalled c. v., he's not a miracle worker so we have to give hI'm time.

Having said that, we already have Micky asking why he can't get in the squad so it hasn't taken long for a night player to express displeasure.

I'm happy to be for patient, my only criticism is some of the midfield selectione.

Ajh great post cpuldnt have put it better myself and in regards to Mkhi Ed has previously said the lad has bad attitude snd hoes in sulking mode.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't understand that signing, plenty of ability but not really a good team player.}

Maze whole I agree that the time is running out for excuses, a quick look at the players we bought in at ridiculous expense over the past three years shows that the club is not moving forward and is on total disarray. Rojo Shaw Darmian schneiderlin Zlatan depay mkhitaryan Fellaini Kagawa and I even include di Maria.
We need to improve our scouting and improve the first team players.
A quick look at the Bayern team last night who played against BMG, showed that every player they had in the team apart from Neuer is better than what we have at United. It is difficult to admit but it's true.
Mourinho's job is to change that. We still don't have a world class striker. We still don't have a world class winger. We still don't have a world class playmaker. We still don't have a world class central defender. The team is way short of quality on my opinion.

So true Ed,
But what i am most surprised about is why did Mourinho buy him if the lad has bad attitude.

I am sure he wouldve known about his attitude as well as his ability.

Do you think he bought him because he thinks he could change his attitude?

{Ed001's Note - partially and partially because of a lack of background research by the scouting team.}

23 Oct 2016 10:11:21
Totally agree Ed001. I think the scouting has been a joke. I think mourinho will change that hopefully.

{Ed001's Note - it takes a long time to set up a good scouting network and United are in the middle of a massive overhaul and looking to take on even more scouts after the 50 recently added.}

Schmid, you paint a despondent picture that is not true. We have some great players, right now they are not playing to their potential and it is up to Jose to fix that. I think there are signs that we are making some, albeit sow' progress.

23 Oct 2016 11:00:36
i think there has been an overreaction.
jose has got a way of doing things and has proved it works, best cv in football.
he has a plan a b and c, if wegner did arsenal would of won a few more titles.

i don't think we need excusses its just jose doing what he does and he does it very well.

on miki something doesn't seem right have to hope it works out tho, great player on his day.

23 Oct 2016 11:19:36
Agreed jred. Good post that.

Starting to worry now because I'm agreeing with you so much lately 😂.

23 Oct 2016 12:45:38
I don't know why people keep comparing the football we play to city under pep or Liverpool under Klopp. Jose never has and won't play that way. We won't be playing that style of football under Jose. Jose has won the lot so his methods are proven. Let's just live with it and stop moaning we're not playing the way city do.

Schmid, I tend to agree with a lot of what you say but that there is a bit ridiculous. We don't have a world class layer for every position. Who has? We have brilliant potential with plenty of young players, rashford, martial, Pogba, Bailly, Shaw. Very good players in Hererra, Mata and Mikhitarian if he ever gets a game. We have a good squad.

23 Oct 2016 12:57:16
Yes stand because Pep hasn't "won the lot" so would we he know. Right?

23 Oct 2016 13:51:07
Yeh Maze, so Jose having won multiple CL medals, should just throw his views and beliefs out the window and copy Peps methods. Seriously we have Jose as our manager not Pep. Get over it maze. Think you'd be better off going to support city to be honest. You post about them enough.

23 Oct 2016 15:36:44
Ajh. Not really despondent, more like angry at the years and money we've spent on under par players. You look at the top sides and they have much better individuals than us. That's a fact!
We need to step up as a club and get our arse in gear.
I think mourinho is one of the best and we'll get there under him.
Courage and aggression and belief has to be the way forward.
