I came over to have a look at what your reactions were to Monday and to offer an outsider's perspective on Mourinho.
I can see good and bad for both sides here. Good for you because you stifled us, made us play to your tempo mostly, restricted us to two good chances and got a point. Us, because we had most of the play for 60 minutes, were a top class save from DeGea away from 3 points and have clearly improved a hell of a lot under Klopp. We sort of take the 6.3.1. formation played by a team with Pogba, Zlatan et al in it as a compliment.
Bad for you because the style of football you played is so alien to your DNA, bad for us because we see it as 2 points dropped.
As for Mourinho, I think he knew he needed not to lose to keep the pressure off as he rebuilds. The one thing he doesn't have on his cv is longevity. I get the feeling that he wants to be at your club for a long time. In that context I think it will be difficult to use the 'Us and them' mentality he'said use elsewhere - it's just not sustainable over the long haul.

Spot on assessment Andy, we came to do a job and got the point we came for, some are disappointed but we're just not ready for that next step yet. Liverpool had most of the ball and could've won it but for a wonder save, not the greatest spectacle. When off the ball we did drop into a back 6. As for longevity I agree I think he'd like to stay longer than his usual 3 years and I hope he does I think m Jose is on the right track, look at where klopp and Poch are a year into their philosophies, all is well for us both going forward, just too early for us tho.

Nothing to do with early days excuse mate, . Pep is a very new manager at city and they play just like they played last year. Jose over the years has a spoecific style of play which the world knows and I genuinely don't see him changing that style to appease fans. His first year is always a dull affair to build a team which suits his tactics rather than the other way. He actually pushes for the title in his second year.
He is not someonw who would entertain any set of fans. You could see a lot more Deep defensive football over the coming time.

peace.

Correct me if I'm wrong but did I not see the fantastic city lose to spurs at the weekend mostly due to pep making a hash of his tactics?

what was his bizarre tactic against spurs?

19 Oct 2016 15:36:40
Pushing everyone into the middle an leaving massive amounts of space down the wings. Didn't work did it. He's not as clever as he thinks he is.

i watched the game, i didn't think city tried any thing bizarre tdh.
sterling and navas where both wide so where both the fullbacks, who had bad games.

spurs where super imo there high press won the game city struggled to cope with it but spurs where good all over the pitch .
better team on the day.

They didn't try anything bizarre. Spurs were aggressive and very impressive when they had the ball. It was a good result for a hard working team. nothing more to it.
