Well that has gutted me. I thought we created enough chances to be well clear. But I suppose we need to be more clinical in front of goal.
Although I thought we played some good stuff today (we are playing much more expressive football compared with the last few years) there is something not quite right about the side.
I still think the manager is trying to find the right blend; and I for one don't think he is far off. Just a bit of tinkering is needed with one or two things.
Hopefully, Martial and Mhiki will come back into the side and find their form. Definitely signs Martial is coming back to form, so I think him coming back into the side and playing well will add another dynamic. Mhiki will also add something else; for as good as Lingard is running off the ball, he doesn't have that top quality, so it is important to get Mhiki into the side IMO.
I think Pogba needs to be played on the left side of a proper midfield three. As good as Ander is at recovering the ball, he is not a natural defensive holding player, and it shows at times with some of the rash challenges. Pogba cannot be trusted to be disciplined in playing in a midfield two IMO, so it is imperative that we build the midfield around him, and let him do what he does best.
If the manager doesn't fancy Spider, he needs to bring Carrick into the side, or, my preference, put TFM in the holding role. His energy and power would complement Ander and Pogba in a midfield three.
I am down beat about the result, but I think the performance - especially in the first half - had some good positive: We are clearly becoming a better football side, but still some way from where we ultimately want to be.
I for one can't wait to play the scousers. They will be up for it and confident; but I have a good feeling about that game.

Wow. You think we're going to get a result at Liverpool? I can't see that happening. I think they're playing very attacking and aggressive football and I can see them beating us comfortably. We created and missed a lot of chances but they missed two easy chances too.
Zlatan was so static today that makes the midfielders job very difficult. I can't see him setting this league or our team alight with the minimal effort he puts in.

NM, Swansea made them look very ordinary. I consider us a better team than Swansea, so I'll not be writing us off just yet.

Stevie. Agreed but at Anfield they've been good. We have to believe and Zlatan has to do a bit more work than he did today. The whole team will have to step up.
