I think we need to place a certain amount of perspective on our European games.

First off the team atm is very much a work in progress, no one inside or outside the club could with 100% certainty name our strongest 11. With that uncertainty and regular switching of players gaining consistency will take time. This is especially evident in our European games due to the fact Jose has changed the line and set up of the team for those games. A few players have only played this season in Europe and not in the league.

I also think that the mentality within the club for the Europa league isn't set to get the most out of our players. Jose saying before the Feyenoord game that it wasn't the competition the club wants to be in will hardly inspire the players to put 100% effort into it. I wouldn't expect that attitude to change until we reached the quaterfinals/ semifinals if we reach that far. Until then it will he seen almost as warm up games for squad players and a mild inconvience to the manager. We didn't even name a full compliment of players for the game last night which was at home, let alone when we play the reverse fixture on the far side of Europe.

I feel we played a stronger line up last night than we would normally have due to two reasons. First the delicate confidence within the squad atm mean we couldn't afford to lose as the press would have gone to town on us again. And secondly because we lost the first game, Jose may consider this a second rate competition but there is still a chance of silverware. He won't throw a chance of a trophy away.

As for those naysayers claiming Rooney's assist shouldn't count. I can tell you faking a shot, while playing a pass via a rebound off the grass to your teammate is totally a legitimate move, I myself have done such on numerous occasions. Honestly. Lol.

Now Rooney has done it I think it might become as popular as the Cruyff turn. let's all start practicing the Rooney rebound. Lol.

I think Jose will be happy with last night, maintained winning streak, clean sheet, beat a team who played with ten men behind the ball for most of the game.

I think Lingard could be very good for us this year, his movement is great and if he can start upping the end product he could become key.

Playing a terrible Stoke side on Sunday we should run riot. I wouldn't change the front 4, same 11 as against Leicester.

Agree Danny, I think Mourinho will he pretty happy, a win and no injuries.

Stoke will be tricky, they are certainly a better team than their league position suggests. I think we should name the same side as Leicester. Without Blind and Herrera we lacked the ability to change the tempo last night, they should be reinstated for Sunday.

I agree with Danny, I think the starting line up that played Leicester should be what Jose goes for, coupled with a better second half than the Leicester game, this team should be purring with conifidence. It's a shame this will be disrupted by an International break.

I also think Lingard could be good, he is frustrating at times like Danny says with the end product but he offers something no one else does and that is the runs behind the defence. I would suggest Martial and Rashford prefer the ball at their feet to go one on one with defenders but Lingard makes some decent runs in behind that really stretches the defence and creates gaps for others to exploit.

Really pleased to hear Jose's comments on Mata and I think he has been great for us so hope Jose sticks with him.

I think Jose wanted a win last night despite his priority of the competition which explains the strong team but I think he will use it to give Rojo and Fellaini game time to keep some harmony in the squad. I can't see either of these two playing regularly in the league now and despite my views on Lingard, unless his end product improves, he will see more game time in this competition, Rumbelows cup or whatever it is called this season and the early FA Cup rounds.

Scholes said last night that he expects Rooney to be back in the side for the big games against Liverpool and City, of course he want asked or didn't say himself who he thought should be dropped to make way for Rooney to come back in.

Bilko, Scholes just said that cause that's his mate. Same way as he thought Giggs should have been manager.

Spot on Angel.

Bilko never listen to what pundits say about their mates, it is normally worse than bais. Savage was trying to convince people yesterday that the mishit from rooney was actually a pass, scholes pre game said that had we replaced mata with rooney for Leicester game we still would have played well, i read an article where the writer said had rooney played he would have got 3 assists instead of blind. some of the stuff pundits spout about rooney is worse than his fanboys.

At the end of the day its a win lads and we're off the mark in the group.

I think we can all agree that Robbie savage was one of mother nature's more serious mistakes . I'm surprised the giant gas bag has not been arrested for stealing oxygen.

As for Scholes I've said it before I will say it again great great footballer but the punditry equivalent of grey paint.

LoL deano, agree on scholes too he seems to have gotten worse since his mate did not get the job ahead of mourinho.
