Lfc fan, just curious. Don't think you will (reckon 3rd) but say you were to finish 5th and miss out on CL. Would you keep mourinho?

Has a lot to sort out but has made some massive signings so think that's his minimum tbh this season.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes I would, we can't keep changing managers it just breeds instability, we've got one of the best, if he can't ge us playing or buying into him then must be a bigger issue at the club, mind you, he has 3 years of mess to unravel before getting us to the top. I expect us to finish top 4 tho, I also expect Liverpool too.

Do our new manager and signings not get 12 months to bed in, like the almighty Klopp himself?

Depends on a lot of variables. If we were 5th, playing good football and within a few points of the winners is a lot different to 5th 20 points behind the winners, 10 points off 4th with Jose having had a huge melt down.

I don't think finishing 5th on its own should inevitablely mean a manager gets fired.

Same question back at you re: Klopp.

Yes of course we would. If you ever finish outside of the European places, would you get rid of Klopp? Oh hang on, you did. No difference.

As MulamNo says it's all about the performances,

1 - Are we playing well as a team?
2 - Does it look like we are heading in the right direction - (is there a plan we are working towards rather than stumbling from game to game)?
3 - Are we entertaining?
4 - Is Jose getting the most from the talent and money he has?

LVG had a lot of luck during his horible reign, so I can accept losing if we are unlucky. Creating 2 chances and expecting to score twice only comes off now and again - it shouldn't be relied upon. I am up for giving any manager time if they are doing the right things and we are progressing. The best team doesn't always win, but the best team should always look like they are the best team.

Tbh depends, although it seems like we are in similar positions (eg need to get top 4, then push for title contention) but really aren't. Lfc don't have the financial strength MU have and the global backing/ draw to demand success. In the current climate we have to focus on progress without being able to draw in top names whilst trying to improve financial position and the team, so is more about gradual improvement. So if we finished 5th and fought for top 4 then it is an improvement and we have to work on that year by year (eg success 😎) .

United on the other hand don't have to worry about transfer fees and wages (proven by this summers signings resulting in a decrease in players wages to total turnover) and can still acquire the worlds best (pogba and ibrahamivoc for example) . So United have more pressure to quickly regain their place in the elite clubs, but probably have more money then any club to do so.

To shorten; I want Klopp to win the title in the next 4 years by developing a team and players to gradually improve the squad to compete. Where United probably need to get there quicker so can demand more instantaneous results, but have an unbelievable financial advantage over (sorry if I'm wrong) nearly any club in the world.

Like someone said above it depends on many variables. If Jose is sitting pretty in March then has a meltdown like he did a Chlesea then that is certainly cause for concern. If he loses out due to a few results not going his way then we go around again next season.

Yes, we need to show the players that we will stand by a manager. Atm they have too much power. We will have to make that stand at some point, probably best do it whem we have a proven manager who has a CV to back up that faith in the manager.
Looking at our squad we aren't performing to the level of talent within the squad. If every player plays to 95% of their potential then we would probably win the league.
We have a lot of quality, we just aren't working hard enough.

The players need to know that the manager is in charge and not them.
