I have spent this evening catching up with the rest of the games from the weekend.
United weren't the only team in red that looked very good.

Can Liverpool win the title this season.

Discuss.

Liverpool do look like a solid team this year and if they continue to score goals i can ser them making top 4 and Chelsea missing out.

26 Sep 2016 12:29:40
If they continue with that form they have a decent shout IMO.

It kills me to admit but I really like Klopp.

26 Sep 2016 12:12:44
I don't think they will win the title but will there and thereabouts, this year is going to be the closest title and top 4 race we have seen.

Along with city they seem to be in great form right now, but how long will it last. They are defensively frail, they look good as a team but i don't think klopp has the ability to to win ugly that is required to win an epl title. And unlike other teams nor do they have truly world class players who can carry them through the season. Coutinho and mane are good players but too inconsistent to play a part throughout the season.

26 Sep 2016 12:44:52
They won't sustain that sort of high pressure pay for a whole season anyway.

if they attempt it there will be casualties leaving them with a broken starting 11.

26 Sep 2016 12:55:50
I suppose for me I have been very impressed by the way players like Lallana have really lifted for Klopp.

26 Sep 2016 13:15:59
Players like Firmino and Origi will also playa a big part for them and don't forget sturridge he hasn't been involved much but will win them. important matches this year.

26 Sep 2016 13:16:15
What I really like about Klopp is he seems to get the most out of his players. On paper they don't have a top four squad, but they are certainly playing well enough to push for a title challenge. As several people have pointed out, it will be interesting to see if they can sustain this high octane style all season, but a lack of European football will certainly help them in that regard. Defensively they still look suspect. I think where they finish will be dictated by how many injuries they suffer, if they can steer clear of too many to key players then they will be right up there come the seasons close. But if they pick up injuries to key players for large parts of the season then there smaller weaker squad will hold them back.

They are playing well no doubt about it. Is it another false dawn? Money time will tell. 15 games in id's when we can all judge who will be in the shake up.
While you can't win the league over 15 games you can certainly lose it. They have had a tough start true but yet are only 1 point ahead of us so its way too early to say just yet.

26 Sep 2016 13:24:27
They look very good going forward. Kilppity is always excellent at creating free flowing attacking football. Not sure they'll have the discipline defensively toward the pointy end of the season. But players like Lallana, Mane, and Firmino are likely to give any defence a tough time.

26 Sep 2016 14:05:55
I think Man City will win it. Aguero and DeBruyne are just too good.

I think United, Liverpool and Arsenal will be one others to make up the top four.

26 Sep 2016 14:34:50
Liverpool will definatly be in the title race imo.

26 Sep 2016 17:50:50
I agree with Danny - great going forward but ropey at the back. I predicted we would win the league with Liverpool a close second, in truth I didn't expect City to start so well. But I think both Liverpool and City will struggle in the winter, so I am still confident about my prediction.

Arsenal are the ones to watch this year as well.

26 Sep 2016 20:40:10
WHy so many dislikes on the above post? Bitter rivals, yes. But the quality they have and the team they have built it's good to watch. So much competition, I'm enjoying it.

26 Sep 2016 21:45:45
I think the scousers have every chance to win it. I do agree with some posters that the high pressing game could take its toll, but I think they have enough talent in the side to go close.
In addition, they have already beaten arsenal and Chelsea away and drew with spurs away. So they have played three of the title rivals away from home and got 7 points.
I think they will be near on invincible at Anfield. So they have a very good chance.

LFC fan here in peace.
Just thought I'd pop over and read your discussions/ debates after a decent win against Leicester ( without Rooney) .

Anyway, I've read some good points above - the fact that we have no European football is a plus and I actually thought our bench against Hull was better than we've seen in a long time. The surprise package for me has been how well Milner has slotted in at LB.

I agree though it's only six games in and can we sustain the press/ counter press all season? I'm not so sure. We still have defensive issues, with the only real cover@LB being Moreno an accident waiting to happen.

Can we win the league? Not for me, though we can push for a top four place if we can just tighten up the defensive side of our game.

If you can continue the form shown against Leicester, I'm expecting a cracking game between us in a couple of weeks.

Cheers
Nicky D.

Not too sure if Liverpool will win it but on current form, they might be close but so will be the other top teams this year. This will be one of the closest title races for many years.

On another note, I simply hate Klopp. Every time I see his face, I feel like slapping that stupid expression of his face. His antiques are beyond me. I hate Liverpool and now since they have that clown managing them, I hate them even more.
