I think it was quite obvious that when we played N'hampton Carrick played a MAJOR role in the win!
Now, due to his age he will need replacing at the end of the season!
The key thing here is we must qualify for CL and get the relevant player with Carricks abilities?
Now I could go on with potential options but are the Glazers willing to spend?
He is key to controlling the game, speed, pace, tempo and that's what has been lacking!

Nice post Ronnie.
I love Carrick and rate him highly but I'd like to see him do that regularly against the likes of City and Liverpool before we automatically call him the saviour of our midfield this season. I think a midfield three of any of Pogba, Carrick, Schneiderlin or Herrera would be miles better than playing players out of position to accommodate them. I'd play Carrick, Pogba and Herrera tomorrow and see how they do.

A similar player to Carrick if we can get our hands on him would be Ruben Neves, who by next summer would slot nicely into the side and allow Herrera and Pogba to do their thing!

If I'm not wrong, I seem to remember Ed 002 suggesting that 2017 could see the Glazers looking to sell. And although he/ she is not one to speculate, they did suggest a Chinese consortium of sorts to be a possibility.
