i think he will get a ban.

He'll get a ban, it's as clear as day. As long as the officials say they never seen the incident he'll get a ban.

If they saw it and ignored it they should be banned themselves. If fellaini did it he would be slaughtered and rightly so it was viscous and would have done serious damage if he connected.
Has to be banned imo there is no place for that sort of behaviour on any football pitch.

Would be very surprised if the FA impose a ban. From a neutral point of view they will not want to see him missing from the Derby - given that it's the biggest game that our league has to offer this season.

Sets a precedent straight away if they ignore that redseven. If he is not banned it will be used in people's defence Everytime.

Danny Murphy on MOTD - thinks it was a yellow card, said Aguero just 'flicked' his arm and only caught him with his wrist to the throat and said it would be a shame if he missed the derby. What a tit - its a straight forward elbow attempt, no debate, doesn't matter what part of his arm actually caught Reid! And the derby is irrelevant to the application of rules unless there's a new rule I've not heard about?

When Keown was asked would the reaction be different if it was Costa "yes". Exactly, stop being hypocrites then!

Surely he gets banned.

{Ed041's Note - Danny Murphy is a class A twot. It's about time these 'experts' put there tribalism behind them and acted professional. Trevor sinclar has been condemning all the ex pros for claiming he should be banned to, even though he was venomous in his opinion on Fellani last year.

He deserves a ban, he's a lucky boy that his previous never got called up to or he could be oit for longer.

Is intent enough for a ban? I watched it from two different angles (i believe there is a third, but I haven't seen it) multiple times, and Aguero is definitely lashing out, but to my eyes he didn't connect. The other players reaction made it look worse than it was.
The Ref's have been very inconsistent already this year, especially considering the rule changes. Imposing a ban on Aguero might be the FA's attempt to level things out. Show they are taking things seriously.

{Ed041's Note - If you go flying two footed at a player and miss the player hit win the ball is ot still a red card?

Decided to google this myself. From the FA website
Q4: How can an offence be violent conduct if no contact is made?
In Law 12 ‘attempts to kick’ and ‘attempts to strike’ are offences – so attempted offences should be punished. Just because a player avoids an opponent’s punch or violent kick it does not mean that the offence is any less serious. Attempted violence must be punished as a sending-off (RC) offence as it has no place in football.

As I said in my previous response, I stated I didn't see any contact. Reading the rules, regardless on contact, ‘attempts to strike’ are offences. So Aguero should get a red and a ban.
