Good game yesterday, thought our defence was excellent. It was compact and the back 4 complimented each other well. Blind brings composure to bailly no nonsense approach. Shaw and bailly help make up for blind lack of pace and strength. That alligned with two energetic holding mids winning the ball back successfully, it looked like the best of the lvg days.
Attacking wise i was not too impressed, martial looks like he has to take up a lot of the slack for the lack of pace by having to stretch defences in behind reguarly which isn't the best part of his game.
That being said once we learn to play to zlatans strength ( play the ball to his feet, not long balls) i think we will start to thrive with pace around him. Its very similar to RVP's initial games where we had to come to grips with his style.
P. S Where is all the uproar with pep sidelining three city legends. Mourinho put bastian in the reserves and he should be put in jail. Toure, Hart and Nasri are three of the greatest player in Citys history and are some of their most successful players ever. I think they should be treated with more respect lol.

Good start yesterday, I was surprised at the selection with Fellaini, who I thought was excellent, Blind, Mata, Herrera and even Martial all starting and have all at some point had their position at United questioned during this transfer window. With Martial being the exception from this through what I believe was lazy journalism and trying to cause trouble, the other 4 all put in good performances and must have pleased Jose but also given him, a welcome, headache. I personally think Blind was excellent and I have always rated the lad and I think he and Bailly could form a strong partnership however I don't see Jose keeping Blind as our main CB, especially if today's rumours of Varane are true.

I also read somewhere, a poster or some news that, Basti did not play again last season to boost his chances of getting fit for the euros.
I think that may have been true and Jose ain't taking that.
Hence he's being frozen.
Or just that Jose thinks Basti would always be injured and he doesn't want more injured players as Jose likes to name the same 11 week in week out.

Purely in terms of trophies won compared to the overall collection of club nasri could be considered a legend. Same with hart and toure.
It was kind of tongue in cheek but my gripe is more with the double standards in coverage of both managers squad trimming.
Bastian gets dropped and jose is portrayed as an evil dictator where as pep is considered a meticulous squad builder looking to shape citys future.

It double standards by the press. As you say, Hart and toure are superb players and if mourinho had dropped them, then there would've been an uproar
