Anybody worried about how well City are buying? they are laying down the building blocks for a sustained period of Success. I am glad we have Ibra but in a year or two both he and Wayne won't be playing for us as attackers. Out defence is still very short of being top class.

I love Valencias work ethic but he is not a top top right back. Rojo Jones and Blind are even further away in terms of being top centre halves. Smalling is decent but you wouldn't put him in the same class as Pally or Bruce yet. In midfield we still don't have a really game changing creative player who can be relied on and we can't rely on Pogba to be that man if and when we get him.

I know Rome wasnt built in a day but despite spending fortunes we are still not in the same league as Barcelona or Madrid or Bayern. Yes I know this is not a very positive post and yes I admit there is optimism under Jose which we have sorely missed these past three years but I wish everyone who big us up as potential title winners this season took a long cold look at our team.

I will support Utd through thick and thin but I am concerned that we are still far from being back on top of the pile. I think it's silly for us to be second favourites for the league this year.

De Gea, Martial, Rashford, Baily, Mkhitaryan, and Depay is a good start in terms of building for the long term future. I reckon we have bought just as well as City and if we get Pogba/ Cb then it will be a fantastic summer for us.

I'm not too worried about City. A lot of us worried about Mangala and Otamendi signing. These overseas players coming in are more likely to flop than excel as we know from experience, especially attackers.

We need some serious TLC at the back and on the right wing IMO if we expect to win things, we also need a CM that can drive the team. Too many passengers in the team wanting to shift responsibility across.

I'm more worried about Liverpool than City if i'm being honest, but I suspect I'll be in the minority. I think we will be very strong with this manager.

They have made some great signings to be honest and it is slightly worrying but just because we're not buying young skilful players doesn't mean we don't have any. City only had established, experienced players last year bar sterling. We have Martial most importantly, rashford, pereira, shaw, bailly, de gea etc. With the right management I can only see us getting better.

De Gea, Shaw, Bailly, TFM, Darmian, Depay, Micky, Tuanzebe, Rashers, martial (plus Poggers? ) : not bad.

Yes few more needed for great 11 but plenty to build on in next few Windows.

Man City also building - but do they really have better quality than us? Jesus and Sane need time to settle, Gundagon injury prone and quite glad they're after Stones (too hyped up) rather than that brilliant French lad who got injured at last minute.

Liverpool and Cheksea in transition too

Gonna be a fantastic season!

I'm with Beast. I think klopp has bought brilliantly and relatively cheaply. Liverpool will be the most improved side this year and I can see them challenging.
We're still short at CB RB and RW. I would love to see Mahrez on the right as he creates a lot and adds pace.

Man City have 2 Jesus -es with them now.
Jesus Navas and Gabriel Jesus.
With 2 of those,
They are winning the league, folks.

I fancy Pep to do well at City but I also fancy Jose to push him all the way. Wenger will be reinvigorated this season and Arsenal have the most cohesive squad in terms of continuity.

Conte is also flying under the radar at the moment and I expect Chelsea to make top 4. Liverpool are interesting as I don't think they have a great team but Klopp seems to go about his work in the right way.

Not worried at all. We can only control what we do and we've made very good head way with transfers. Not bothered what the other clubs do so long as we land our targets. Oh and we have Jose this year.

Will be interested to see how well Liverpool do but they still lack quality in various positions. Their fullbacks are limited, esp options at LB. Not seen much of their new keeper but he's injured now and Mignolet is poor. Their new CB's will need to hit the ground running as they conceded so many sloppy goals last year. And their CM options are pretty average Imo. But people see Klopp as the messiah so i'm sure they'll win the league 😎

In all seriousness, I think its too tough to call next season I can think of at least 5 clubs who could challenge. Its going to be an incredible season and I'm looking forward to it (certainly not worried) .

Is that not a bit premature? Nolito is a good squad player but will not set the league alight. Gundogan is class if he gets fit and stays fit but the other signings and potential ins are just youngsters with ability. We bought Memphis on that premise last year and just as the Eds said he was nowhere near ready, what is to say City's signings are?

04 Aug 2016 10:29:46
Maze who do you think will win the title?

04 Aug 2016 10:40:34
On Transfers.
Man City have signed an over weight and injured Gundagon, Sane who looks good but is 21 and they already have competition their so it remains to be seen if he is going to get regular game time. Jesus arrives at Easter or Christmas?

Not game changing Signings like when they bough Yaya and Augero.

Liverpool have bought Mane who I like but for us would be a step up on Jesse but not Miki. An Estonian chap for Centre Back who I don't know and still need a Left Back. I don't see Liverpool being in such a good place to be honest are buying like a top 8 club not a top 4 club.

Chelsea and Arsenal have still to make a major mark but of Chelsea and Arsenal get a top Centre Back and Sticker they will be good N

Leicester have bought well.

If we get Pogba though I think we can all celebrate that we 'won' the transfer window (sarcasm) but we have addressed the spine of the team. If we then buy well again with Jose's 'supplementry Signings' or in Jan/ summer 17 (experienced Centre Back and Right Back) we will have the best squad in the league.

What happened over night JMB? Yesterday we would struggle to make top 4, today we will pish City all the way.

04 Aug 2016 11:01:04
Betty, it was Rollo who said that yesterday I think you'll find 😆.

04 Aug 2016 11:29:13
Betty, HB re-read my post. Jose's remit and the expectation of fans will be to push for the title.

In my opinion at the moment I think we will finish closer to 4th than 1st. Having said that there may be 5 points between 1st and 4th this season for all I know.

Read the posts correctly thanks.

04 Aug 2016 12:38:29
Wallace - Poggers? Rashers? You went to Eton, didn't you?

04 Aug 2016 16:10:33

clap clap lol.

04 Aug 2016 16:18:06
Would rather not Maze, they're generally depressing enough to read the first time around! From memory it was lucky to get top 4 yest then today mounting a serious title challenge. Please be more consistent in future 😊

That bloody well made me chuckle, Stevie, old chap.
