The extended contract gives added protection while reducing the annualized amortization charge. It's eminently affordable given current turnover projections.
Assuming it happens, and we take Mourinho at his word, the main positions are filled and we will be left with the tinkering should the occasion arise. (Does anyone have any guesses as to who might be tinkered with? )
Although I was excited when Falcao and di Maria joined the club, I was not entirely confident. With the emergence of so many good young players, I believe we now have a solid mixture of youth, experience, finesse and physical presence. All of the ingredients need to be maintained and evolve to have a solid run of success.

Absolutely Shawthing. We've corrected two mistakes made in last 4 years this summer: letting Pogba go and not securing Mourinho when he was the obvious successor to Fergie based on age and experience.
LVG was dire for us but he did deliver a first taste of silverware for some of our youngsters. That, coupled with the right man in charge at the helm at last and not least supported by decisive action in the transfer market will at least get us into contention for the title this year. Are we good enough to win it? Well it's a weak league given Leicester's exploits isn't it?
Bookies talking up Pep as though the 4th placed team on same points as us had the 1617 title sewn up already. I hope everyone tucked into the rather generous 6/ 1 being offered about us.
Big big season for us. I think we are a CB short personally but be useful to see whether Fosu-Mensah is used in that role as part of his development.
