It's all getting very silly now.
The new thing to justify the Pogba deal seems to be 'we will be singing brand Pogba' and 'Pogba is the second biggest brand is sport'. Is this what it has come to? Writing blatant lies to justify a deal?
I don't want 'brand Pogba' I just want a damn good midfielder without getting shafted. I want a Zidane not a Beckham.

Both Zidane and Beckham have retired, but if u want a retired mf ahead of one of the best young mf in the world, well each to his own I suppose. I know 1 other guy who thought the same way, is that u sir Alex, or is sir Alex one of u r many alter egos maze.

I think zidanes busy at the moment but in all seriousness maze/ jmb/ rollo who would you like to come into midfield? Or is there anyone in the squad that you feel can step up this season?

Beckham was an absolutely brilliant player, just because he managed his public image really well doesn't mean he's a bad footballer, I'd love a player of his quality on the right for us.

Pull the plug on the deal. I couldn't give two hoots if we don't get him. He's not the best midfielder in the world. Potentially he can be but let him go to Real. Either Pogba himself or his agent are stalling the move to United. The very same agent Sir Alex hated when he left last time round.
Our transfer policy's have become a joke over the past few years. I did hope with Jose in charge now, all the nonsense would stop.
I'd use the money to go after Verrati and Mustafi.

'Rather xx than a Beckham'.
Beckham wasn't just a brand, he was an outstanding footballer. The only saving grace of him leaving was is replacing him with Ronaldo. Beckham leaving could've been a disaster were it not for other members of the class of 92 staying, and his replacement going on to be one of the greatest players ever.
For some reason, a players marketability seems to be seen as a negative. If it detracts from his game then fair enough, but if we are signing someone who is playing at the top of his game with the added bonus of being immensely marketable, then I don't see the issue?
At no point has anyone claimed that pogba signing is purely because of his marketability, merely that it offsets the (admittedly ludicrous) sum being shelled out for him.

I am not knocking Beckham but if your trying to tell me he was a good as Zidane then you need your head checked. The only reason Becks hung around at Madrid so long was because of his image.
DSG I wanted Gundogan and then Kante both have went to rival clubs now and I hope they fail badly. Now I would turn my attention to someone like Marchisio who is the player who has carried Pogba for years.
