Just read Morrata saying there is nothing happening with United and Pogba. Given all the other media reports and the supposed stalemate regarding the fees involved including agent fees but there are other major fees involved in these things if i remember correctly from an old ed002 post,

Does anyone get the feeling this thing is not going to happen and we have basically drawn a line in the sand.

I do hope we are working other channels and would like to see a CB and right winger added and can live with that

or we can always get an announcement today for all i know :)

Agree2 Disagree2

wasn't beppe marotta last week telling everybody that utd haven't even made contact.

27 Jul 2016 08:29:02
Its done.

He said the same thing yesterday no United Pogba contact and now BBC saying financially they are not in need of selling Pogba. I don't know their finances but ed002 said a few months ago something along the lines that they are quite healthy. The italian league is quite unique where top teams sell top players to each other with no hassle lol. With all the players they have coming in they will be shipping a few out i would imagine and maybe they can hold on to Pogba.

Let's see. I tend to believe that things that take this long usually go off the rail because both parties get time to step back and think through things, its buyers remorse and re-rationalisation of their decision and sellers rethinking as they say.

La stampa are reporting it is nearly done with 100mn to juve and 15 to mino with only thing remaining is payment schedule. They are very reliable with juve news.

27 Jul 2016 09:20:03
And now Zidane just said RM are still in for pp another saga anyone?

27 Jul 2016 09:41:26
x-files "buyers remorse" haha, there's an old sales term i haven't heard for a long time!

27 Jul 2016 09:51:18
For the optimist its done i guess and so many of these sources are more wrong than right including the newspapers.

Pogba has now come out said don't believe what you read in the papers.
it could mean anything including agent fees blah blah. What a circus and tortured as United fans as it seems like this all the time now.

I love how Barcelona do big deals, no fuss and just a simple announcement and done and dusted without having their laundry in the public domain.

All I care is to get whatever players we are getting asap and get ready for the season and get a glimpse how we integrate the new players and what system we play and who plays where.

27 Jul 2016 10:00:49
Absolutely mate!

27 Jul 2016 10:30:27
X files so are we just going to ignore the farce which was the neymar transfer. To this day we don't know if he cost €80m or half of brazils gdp.

27 Jul 2016 10:56:33
What Circus? You choose to torture yourself by taking notice of the nonsense they write in the papers on a daily basis. Just ignore it and when you see a player signing the contract and holding up the shirt then you know he has signed.

27 Jul 2016 11:16:39
He needs to come out now and say what he is doing, if he is signing for united or madrid or staying in italy.
Everyone is fed up of it at this stage. i though all along we were signing him but now i don't think we arent.
So its time now for united to say we are or we aren't and move on.
Theres other players out there and for that kind of money we could get 2 or 3 top players in.

27 Jul 2016 11:22:44
Other than the fans who want information and the media who need information to sell papers I don't think this deal is a circus.
There is nothing out of the club which is the right thing, other than the odd bit from Juve they are keeping quiet and Raino/ Pogba are just asking media questions.
There really is no circus around this. if it is a deal being worked on then it takes time. Especially with the amounts being talked about.
Whilst we all want it resolved. it is still not August so still over a month to the end of the window and weeks until the start of the season.
Either way we will be okay.

You are using one example of Neymar. Suarez, Gomes, Rakitic to name a few got done in no time. Not a 6 weeks of daily Soap opera with the player and his agent taking the piss and making comments on instagram and every other form of social media with funky messages that is neither here or there and depending which side of the argument you sit can be construed to suit your thinking.

It is a circus mate and last 4 summer windows has been like this and not sure why its always us.

Tot

I agree but i can't help myself and this transfer window bullshit and wish we could go back to the old system.

27 Jul 2016 11:50:01
Do some people just not get the notion that even if pogba was not signed the money wouldn't be spent on 3 players instead. 1 player would be signed whatever he may cost as that would fulfil the 4 main specified positions JM has targeted. This is not Fifa!

27 Jul 2016 11:59:36
well its a pretty big example x files, its probably the worst conducted transfer of modern times. Also its pretty difficult to compare transfer sagas seeing as we are likely to read most things to do with utd and transfers. For all we know a similar thing could be happening for Barcelona in the spanish newspapers. I doubt you read all of them x files as i definitely dont.

People will complain when we don't go after the biggest and best players and then complain when we do and things get drawn out.

27 Jul 2016 12:00:03
DGS

BTW there was never any doubt Neymar was joining Barcelona and he made that commitment publicly way before the transfer and the whole sage was the financials of it. Barcelona also made no secret of it and publicly said we are finalising the deal.

In our case his club says no contact with united, he says absolutely nothing and is vacationing in Miami, his agent says its all bullshit what the papers are writing and our club is silent lol

Same script Ramos, Fabregas, Thiago all were kind enough to share their vacations with us and making cryptic comments and at the end all a waste of time and then we ended up signing a last hour deal elsewhere and got raped for it. Hope it is not a repeat of the same.

27 Jul 2016 16:50:54
XFiles,
do you think the name "Barcelona" would sell half as many papers as the name "Manchester United" and therein lies your answer. That's the reason you don't see any long drawn transfer sagas for that club. Madrid for once would sell as they would have last season with the de gea deal. And Real are in the news as much as us on this pogba deal even when they have supposedly moved on.

It's not actually the deal rather it's the club name that is selling papers.

I am just stating the facts of the matter, its the same very window. I do agree being United we will always get more press but the script seems to be the same. I posted a few days ago saying i get the sense this deal will not happen and with every passing day getting more convinced we are being used and nothing will come off it.

In the meantime Gomes is gone, Matuidi for all we know will be gone like a flash and then we will start scrapping the bottom of the list for alternatives.

28 Jul 2016 08:11:25
I think the process must still be in progress or we would have seen Woodward / Mourinho move on to the next option.
I'm sure by now Mourinho knows when a player genuinely does not want to move.
