Reports that arsenal are buying Mahrez. I watched him all of last season and yesterday against celtic, he was outstanding. He's got pace, skill, good shot. He's everything we need on the right wing. For the silly prices quoted for other players, £46m is a bargain. If arsenal buy him, they'll have him on the right and sanchez on the left and coupled with Xhaka in the middle, I think they'll be very strong contenders for the title.
I really wish we show interest in Mahrez, but unfortunately that's not going to happen.

They won't as long as they have giroud up top and mertesacker at the back. They also lack at full back and I think the squad depth isn't there. Top 4 but no trophies.

Mort I agree on Mertesacker but I don't think Giroud is a bad player. In fact I think he is very underrated.

I think he is good Iin a 2 up formation but is not good with just himself up top.

Giroud isn't a bad player, but his lack of pace means he will never be a top class striker. I know people will say Sheringham etc never had pace, but Giroud does not have the footballing brain of Sheri or LeTissier.
Giroud makes Michael Carrick look like Using Bolt - albeit a little paler :)

They need another cb. And I think if mahrez goes there then giroud will get plenty of chances.
Mahrez will fit perfectly in our side. Come on Jose.

I think they will buy a CB, and if Mahrez goes there, they are a very complete team. There is a ton of quality in that squad when you consider guys like Ramsey, Willshire, Carzola, Ozil, kos, cech, bellerin, Xhaka ( for me soon to be one of the best right backs anywhere) Its odd why people would write off Arsenal. Even Welbeck and walcott are handy if they can stay fit.
I think they have so many players that can score goals that it does not matter if they get a big name striker. Their midfield alone has 3 guys that can score 7 to 10 goals a season.
I am going to wait until the 31st to do tony's spreadsheet as it would not surprise me if they end up doing the best bit of business for the summer out of all the top teams.
