What do people make of Scholes' comments on the potential Pogba deal?
I can't remember anyone on here saying he was wrong with what he said last season?
So does everyone agree with him in that Pogba is overpriced and not worth the money we will be paying for him?

I care as much about Scholes comments as I would Alan shearers he is a club legend and one of the best players I have ever seen with my own two eyes however he is a dreadful deadpan boring pundit so I have no care whatsoever if he disagrees with how much some one is worth.
Is no one looking at this transfer window and seeing the prices that players are swapping clubs for?!

Overpriced not worth it imo, then couple the fact we have history and he wants play elsewhere - has all the ingredients for ADM part 2.
I value Paul Scholes's opinion, he may be dull but he is often correct in his assessment.
Everything is subjective, but far too much talk has been on or about Pogba - his ability simply doesn't warrant it. Just like Raheem Sterling a few year's ago. A good agent, a PR bitch like our press office and we have the perfect setting for mass hype and mass waste.

Scholes is/ was my all time favourite player for United and always will be I think. Even more so than my namesake.
However, Jose has been here two minutes so I think he needs to reign it in a bit and curb the negativity. Pogba could be, if he signs, better than Keano - and that would be amazing if so.

I have said the same thing all along. i think it is desperate deals that make clubs worse for it and the fans seem to not give it a second thought. we will continue these debates once this thing takes a definitive swing.

I was reading Scholes having a go at the Zlatan signing the other day too, i think he is just trying to sound a controversial pundit so the tv companies keep him in a job. I think he knows his personality is dull as dishwater and is trying the gimmick of being outspoken to get the ratings up when he is on.

He is an ex player. Albeit a great ex player. But in reality all he is, is an ex player giving an opinion that he is paid to do.
He wanted giggs to Get the job and has said so many times. How many people were on here backing that opinion. Not many.
Many of his opinions will be agreed with some won't. Frankly I think he is courting controversy as it brings in viewers same as Roy Keane at times. Taking polar opinions often brings in viewers.

AJH he was right last year because LVG wasn't right for the job in hand and had us playing terrible. This year I don't think any player whether you are called ronaldo, messi, neymar, bale is worth the suggested fee it's going to cost pogba but the fact is that's the way the market has gone and if jose wants him in jose we must trust.

This was the guy who was all but openly championing his mate giggs to get the utd job, so how correct he was, is still up for questioning.

I happen to agree we are overpaying for Pogba, however if that is who Jose wants and that's the amount it takes then so be it. the money isn't coming out of my/ your pocket so why all the fuss? I just worry that the deal may not happen and with Andre Gomis snapped up by Barca, Kante at Chelsea and verratti seemingly unattainable who would the back up choices be? I personally have always been a Vidal fan but after injurys/ age I don't think he is a viable option.

Infact he is very right we made a mistake giving Jose the job it should have been giggs this is manutd after all and he's Scholes. It's also great to debate and disagree. There are some posters I tend to agree with and some I don't. Then we get odd situations such as I agree with most f what red says, but I'd sell Rooney tomorrow. I agree with a lot of what Ken says, but I think we are paying way way too much for Pogba. Sometimes it seems posters disagree with someone not because of what they have said but because of who has said it.

I think Scholes is entitled to his opinion. He also partly criticized the Zlatan signing. He also said that he hasn't seen much of Mkhitaryan which for a pundit, is a strange thing to say!
However, we all know that Scholes wanted his pal Giggs in the hot seat and is waiting for mourinho to cock up so that will happen. I'm sure there are posters on here who are wishing for the same.
Pogba is overpriced and personally I wouldn't pay that much for him. But it is the market, supply and demand. And unfortunately the world has gone mad. So if mourinho wants him then we'll get him and hopefully we all get behind him and the manager.

Many ways you break down the worth of a player. Much of which as fans do not have a clue about. If man united didn't believe pogba was worth it then they wouldn't pay it.
Scholes is fantastic, bit boring to listen to but I think he genuinely says it how he thinks it is. He was just asked his opinion, gave it and like always fans do not agree.
I agree with you jred, Scholes opinion only tends to suit fans when it's what they think. He was 100 percent right on LVG, 100 percent wrong on Giggs and possibly doesn't quite understand the transfer of Paul Pogba like many of the fans.

Zlatan is one of the most overrated forwards in world football plus he'll be a disruptive influence in the dressing room (if you believe today's papers it's already started, ) pogba's a good player but no way on this planet he's worth £105 million plus 220k a week AFTER tax, plus your his second choice because he's been fluttering his eyes at Madrid, Juve are having the kecks off United and sounds like some of you are burying your heads in the sand about him. Matuidi is the player you should be going for, similar level of ability (all be it older) and for probably a third of the price. You should walk away, but your manager isn't arsed who costs what because he's a short term instant impact manager because all he's interested in is enhancing his own profile/ cv for his next job, he won't give a shite what state your in when he's gone as long as he's enhanced his own reputation.

waro zlatan is one of the top 5 strikers in the world, but yes bcz utd signed him he is suddenly overrated.220k after tax, i don't see him getting any more than what rooney does and he isn't on 400k.
U lot are about to buy wijnaldum for 25mn so let's not talk about overpaying shall we, and to further prove my point here's a fun fact, Liverpool have now spent £235m on players from Southampton, Newcastle, Sunderland and Aston Villa in the last 5 years. Matuidi is a good player but is nowhere near pogba especially after his injury and we might sign him to replace schweinsteiger who looks likely to leave. U are a liverpool fan so i get the jose hate, slip hurts doesn't it.

It's all a matter of opinion anyway for now nobody really knows how pogba will perform in the league he might turn out to be the worth every penny of the 100m or he could operate at a level comparable to Waro's wijnaldum. What I think is important is that the manager wants him he has analysed the player and seen he's what he needs. 100m is the price quoted for every club who had interest in him Barcelona said they were priced out if they had 100m they'd spend it instead they went for gomes who btw might end up costing them 70m.

CSM, correct we have slightly overpaid for wijnaldum, he cost Newcastle 14.5m scored 11 and assisted with 6 I think it was, so paying 23m is maybe 3-4mill to much, what would you have valued him at?
Pogba is maybe a 50m player imho so there's a slight anomaly in your comparison wouldn't you say?
I've never rated ibrahimovic it's not because he's signed for united, and now he's 34 I DEFINITELY don't rate him, we'll see how good he is in the next 6 months, he'll never be value for the money your paying him and he'll disrupt the dressing room because his ego is even bigger than his hooter.

Waro Wijnaldum is a rubbish player who got dropped by a team fighting relaxation so how good he is we understand, and stats can be deceptive, we had the best defence in the league according to stats last season, but we all know the reality is very different. Pogba is worth what we feel he is worth and it will depend on his performances whether he was worth the money, none thought martial is worth 37mn when he signed, today the opinions are different.

The team must have been suffering from hyper tension CSM for him to be dropped for fighting relaxation, he obviously has a medical problem which is out of his hands 👠mind you the Dutch are very laid back as a nation so it was probably just his temperament or maybe he was smoking a morrocan John player special.
I hope you do buy Pogba because he's overpriced and isn't going to get you back to were you were, I'm sure he'll do quite well for you but I'm not worried in the slightest because you need another 5 players just to make top 4 IMO.

Every one has reported £37mn rising to 57 with add ons if achieved. So where u got those numbers from it would like to know. Wijnaldum is average, something u will learn when he starts playing for u. Let's see what happens come end of season, just remember that we have had our 3 of our worst years in 2 decades and still finished above u 2 of those 3 times.
