Not united related but what do you all make of Allardyce being the New England boss, he gets results but not playing the most attractive football, I'm not sure what to make of it.

{Ed004's Note - Hopefully he doesn't just pick players based on names and reputations}

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we will play to the strong parts of our game and stop trying to play like other teams.

Rather have Harry "the melting face" Redknapp.

but let's be honest. all English mangers are sh1t.

Big Sam makes a living off 7 games a season he should be suited to qualifiers and tournaments, no nonsense approach, like to think he's wise enough to see the same mistakes last England managers have made in selections, tbh tho I think the FA needs a bit of a revamp first.

I think he'll give it a good go. He'll play his team and live or die by it.

Right behind him would have preferred brucie but I have a lot of time for big Sam.

He's not fashionable. But then what have the fashionable managers done over the last 20 years? I think he's had some innovative thinking, usually being one of the first to embrace new ideas and technology, and with a good bunch of players for a change, I think he could do well.

I would like to see an england play like a england team, with a bit of passion .
I think sam will give us that.

I quite like big Sam and so long as he is allowed to manage his way, picks the players who are on form and not because of their name (and doesn't instantly install Kevin Nolan as captain! ) I think he will do ok.

England, a bit like United, need to find rediscover their identity and style of old to get their fans excited again. Hopefully Big Sam will go for the win, which I'm not so sure was at the forefront of Hodgson's mind.

Sunderland could struggle without him.

I think he will do very well if he sticks to what he is good at. If he tries to go toe-toe with Intl managers with their negative possession based football we will be rubbish. If he plays to his strengths we will be a threat to anybody.

Good appointment, I just hope he doesn't bottle it and go all "modern" on us.

Moyes to Sunderland I reckon.
