Short rant if I may:

Pogba Smogba. Already the talk about this guy is doing my head in (and we ain't seen nothin yet), he is just tabloid heroin and we are going to be lumbered with BS throughout his 2 year stay if he signs.

IF he does sign I imagine we will have to start on paragraph four of any news report to even know the score, as they will relish telling us what Pogba and the Zlat had for breakfast that morning before we read any game analysis. Match of the Day is just going to be a farce, 5 mins of football 75mins of celebrity analysis.

I've been getting fed up of the ego maniacs ruining the game (and agents milking it) for ages, but now it's like a perfect storm at our club. We have Jose Mourinho, King Zlat and potentially Media Hogba, it's going to be a hard time suffering the press for anybody that actually cares about things that matter - the actual stuff going on football wise!

Hell even our own English media "hog" Wazzer is going to struggle with this lot coming in, the only column inch going his way will be from the journalists peckers on the front row for Pogba's great "unveiling".

Decent signing if it happens, but seriously is he worth it money wise and sanity wise?!

I understand where you're coming from Beast but it's not Pogba's fault that he's always in the press. He's at the centre of potentially the biggest transfer ever and the side that are about to pay this massive sum is Man Utd. His agent isn't really one for saying no comment. Add into the mix he left us previously for under a million and journalists need a new pair of pants everytime there is the tiniest development.

Also at least he's in the papers for footballing reasons. We've had enough plenty of media coverage of our players for the wrong reasons whether it be Giggs, Cantona, Beckham, Rooney, Keane etc.

Ultimately he's a great player and would massively improve us but the money could possibly be spent more wisely. Whatever happens we'll be a much better side next season and that what we all want.

You on your period, Beast lad?

20 Jul 2016 08:56:01
😂 Stevie.
Come on beast cool your jets mate. It's just part if the transfer game nite. You and I are from a slightly different generation so it is hard to accept the way things are done now. But binouchi sane and suarez move all look similar its just the way of the modern world.
Not always the players fault.

you might want to have a look back at some of our past players before you go blasting the current ones for being 'media hogs' and 'celebrities'.

Beast if pogba performs people will forget about what we paid, martial cost 37mn, a kid who no one knew much about cost 37mn, everyone be it our fans, media, opposition fans were calling it a panic buy, waste of money, some papers even openly mocked the spending. 1 year later no one cares how much we paid for martial, everyone's happy we bought him, same papers who mocked his signing were full of his praises.

Tony Martial,
He came from France,
The English press said he had no chance
50 million down the drain,
As Tony Martial scores again.

Who cares if the score is on paragraph 4 or whatever.

What matters is what happens on the field. not what happens in the papers.

seems to me you'd rather read about us than actually watch the game.

Cheers for the comments guys.

JK92 - I clearly state that the thing I am interested in is the actual game, not all the BS in the press. So that is some kinda twisting going on.

I appreciate there are mitigating circumstances surrounding why this deal is massive in both scale and meaning, I'm just worried about how much more garbage is going to be going on with Jose, Ibra and maybe Pogba signing. We saw at the Euros how despite Ronaldo being pretty much anonymous he was the focus of every build up, every half time and post match analysis. I tend to have a beer watching these parts, they are unavoidable (otherwise the Mrs would have me doing stuff like making cups of tea) .

It is transfer season, so to be expected. I need a little rant now and again as Live Chat is no longer available to grump off at. My local "Bitchers Anonymous" has been closed for a few weeks, it takes it's toll, hah.

Ronaldo is the best player in the world and been there our there about for 7 / 8 years he will be the centre if attention no matter what. The same as pele is when they roll him out at functions worldwide. It's just the way it is mate he hadn't kicked a ball for 40 years and is still the centre if attention as is Maradona everywhere he goes.
