Eds/ Guys, with all these top managers in PL and the willingness of clubs to pay insane amount of money for players do you see English clubs breaking the spanish dominance over the Champions League and Europa League?

{Ed041's Note - Got to start buying sensible first I'd say mate. English clubs has always had money, its the lack of competence that's hindered them.

Hi MB - I think it should if all is fair in love and war, BUT La Liga isn't a very competitive league, Madrid/ s Barcelona only have 6-10 tricky games a season. The PL it's probably 6-10 easy games a season. Arguments could be made for the French, German and Italian leagues being much less competitive as well, so their European teams have big advantages.

So match preparation, fatigue, playing through injuries etc all become key factors. It's a handicap for the PL clubs, but without that competitive domestic league it would have less revenue so arguably would make the debate moot.

No doubt the PL clubs in Europe have been very poor of late, a lot of turnover of players and managers doesn't help, with elite clubs in Europe being able to lure great players as well. Even with the handicap I fully expect the PL to do much better now, but Qtr finals on it's a lottery anyway imo.

Ed has hit the nail on the head .
We (epl) need to get smarter .

Beast
How many tricky games would barce have in the epl .
Could you see stoke getting the ball of them (when city united and co can't ) even if it was a cold night .

Refereeing is different here though jred. Barcelona wouldn't have the same protection the get in la liga.

If Celtic can beat Barcelona stoke would slaughter them at the Britannia. The wind would keep knocking Neymar over so they'd be playing vs 10 anyway.

Barca would most likely have to play a different style if they were in the pl. Mainly due to the physical side of the pl and competetivness of the league when on any given day any team can beat another. Personally think they would get top 4 but would not have it as easy as they do.

Did Celtics beat Barca? Oh, I hadn't heard.

liverpool should have won it last season, thankfully they messed up the second half in the final. i think if we take europa seriously we can win it this season, cl will be a difficult ask this season for english clubs, but next season could be a realistic chance of having an epl team win it since chelsea, as pep will have a team more to his liking and well versed in the style of play he would like to implement, same with conte, and we will also be in the mix, not to mention ronaldo is on wane and there is a good chance that one or even two of the msn will not be at barca.

If Barcelona played in PL, they'll win it by minimum of 10 points. They can transform their game to whatever the conditions and whoever the opposition.

Barca will win the Pl with quite ease even with the occasional hick ups.
