All this Pogba talk really makes me wonder why we aren't going for Kroos at at least half the price. The guy is awesome! Can anyone put out a decent argument why?

He's German, we should only have players from England.

Just to be clear, the was a joke, I don't anyone trying to join my xenophobic gang!

Couldn't agree more Eric. Such a brilliant footballer who puts consistent performance after performance in. I don't think there's another player on the planet who can dictate a game like he can. Ideally if we were to line up in a 443 formation i'd like a Tony Kroos dictating the play, a Kante running marathons doing the spade work and a Lampard like player getting us 15-20 goals from midfield but we don't live in an idea world and that's probably to much of an ask. hopefully how ever we line up in the new season we have a midfield that dominates again like the Scholes/ Keane days.

I think we are so close to having a team worthy of united quility we just need a final cm piece to complete Joses jigsaw a backline of ddg darmian smalling Baily shaw is fantastic zlatan martial rashford rooney four top strikers all offering excellent quilitys and different skill sets for me pogba kross modric or Wilshere would make this team a real force again even without any more transfers this team is the strongest in nearly a decade add a world class cm of scholes or keane potential and we will be in business 😉😉😉.

Maybe Kroos doesn't want to leave Madrid and move to Manchester . Before anyone pipes up with neither does pogba, at least it seems like he wants out of his current club .

I admire your enthusiam red gate, but personally i'm not expecting a lot from Baily this season, or first half of the season and i'm not convinced about Darmian.

I think DDG and Shaw and smalling give us an excellent base -although i'm concerned how much football Smalling has played but I would love Darmian and Baily to prove me wrong this season.

If you're unconvinced of Bailly then surely Smalling in that bracket too? We are 2 'starting XI' CBs short.

If we fail to buy another class established CB I can't see us winning the league. But now that we have the right manager in who knows. Maybe Jones can miraculously have injury free season. Maybe Rojos can show why he's an Argentine international.

I have stated before that the key thing is whether they are a player in the mould that the manager likes. From history we know that Mourinho likes a Matic and a Fabregas type as the 2 at the midfield base.
The question we need to ask is does Kroos fit that mould.

Halesini, I think Smalling is a 7/ 10 player, obviously having played in the PL for some years he has that on his side whereas Bailey doesn't - in an ideal world we would sign a top CB to come in alongside Smalling as first choice with Bailey playing his way in or as right back as he has done before - there's no doubt Smalling has to up his game to impress JM but I think he is capable of doing so -.

Did you really just mention jack wheelchair in the same sentence as pogba, Kroos and modric or am I seeing things.

08 Jul 2016 19:45:28
Im with you stretford. There are so many other players i'd pick over wheelchair. would rather ask scholes or keane to considerer coming out of retirement before we signed him, unless we were just signing a player to keep jones company in the treatment room.

Wilshire can go smoke cigarettes in the pool. And is Kroos really trying to leave Real Madrid? I can't see it. He is a vital player on a CL winning team. I am sure they appreciate what he gives.
