There is a well needed clearance at United, I didn't think we needed to as LVG was brought in to literally rip apart the old team to make way for this new one.
But even the players he has brought in plus other players who aren't fulfilling there roles. We need a revamp!
Our midfield is terrible, slow larthagic, no spark and lack of flair with 4-5 slow, ageing players.

And are saying Jones is the answer? Now why is that then, could it because Mourinho said a few kind words to him over a text because Jones when fit hasn't shown any improvement over Chris? Smalling is decent, not a worldie of a player, but 1 of the best in the league and out of Eng CBs, he was the best.
We need cover here Deffo, and yes we have Darmian who seems to be split with people on here, but I for one don't think he is 1st choice RB material. He lacks pace and upper body strength. He is easily beaten by tricky pacey players (Prem is full of) . You can strengthen the guy up, but he will still never be able to catch up with the likes of Zaha Walcott PUNCHEON or a Redmond type of player, these players are good but not that extra level.

Fellaini and rojo definitely need to go in my opinion. The latter is not good enough in my opinion and the former should play for a club that will play to his strengths.
Apart from that there are some players i don't mind if they stay or go such as valencia, young, blind and mata.
The rest of the squad should definitely be kept in my opinion.
Dont think there is much of a need for huge clearance as lvg did a job of getting rid of most of the squad he inherited.

De Gea, Romero, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Jones, Shaw, BJ, Carrick, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Memphis, Lingard, Young, Martial, Rooney and Rashford are all good enough to be members of the squad or more.
That's 17 players who I deem to be worthy (maybe not Jones) .
Fellaini, Rojo, Valencia, Varela, Schweinsteiger and Januzaj are players who aren't good enough and the squad would be better off without. I'd of kept Schweinsteiger had Carrick left - but there isn't room for two slow, ageing players in midfield.
Of thr players that LVG got rid of I've always said Nani and Hernandez were good players to have around. I'd also of kept Rafael around as his attitude was superb and he was reliable.

Januzaj has a lot more to offer. Valencia and schweini are definitely good enough squad players. You have lingard and young there fgs.

I don't like any player for us atm in midfield. Mata, but Mourinho won't keep him. Schneiderlin will be kept but shouldn't be, Rojo isn't upto the standards, Fellaini I think will be given some time, Rooney shouldn't play all the time, Schweiny should go or Carrick (No space for both of them) Young Jones Valencia/ Darmian (keep one) Romero who is unbelievably bad should be gone. De Gea Daley Smalling TFM Carrick Martial Rashford Mata are the only players who should be and are probably safe for the 1st team and squad, but Mata isn't liked as we all know. Just my opinion.

I feel if we get mykhtaryan and ibrahimovic along with another box to box midfielder our squad is going to be frightening especially if we keep schneiderlin herrera and memphis the rest of them feilleini schweinsteiger rojo valencia young i would get rid of the lot of them.
We are lucky because we have a group of young lads who have all signed new deals who are all ready for the first team squad and won't rock the boat and be patient to wait for their chance which is all good for the harmony of the squad.

Obviously were not going to ship that many players.

fresh i agree with most of what u say except valencia should be kept rather than young as he actually provides something at least defensively while young is inept in attack and useless in defense. Also rafael is exactly opposite of reliable u need to stay fit for more 3-4 games in a row to be anywhere near reliable.
Cr92 herrera and schneiderlin have had poor seasons but they are hardly what u call old or lethargic or slow, also smalling is a average at best cb who looked good last season bcz of the way van gaal set his team up. Every time we had to attack from the start, needed to win games rather than follow the defend first and hopefully we will score approach, smalling looked like a headless chicken with ddg needing to save us, be it arsenal home, westham away, wolfsburg away. Every time smalling did not have the midfield doing his job for him he looked poor, jones is definitely not the answer but nor is smalling, he is and always will be an average player at best, what we need is actual quality like bonucci, even someone like stones is a better bet, while you could say he is a worse player right now, but he does have the potential to turn into world class which smalling does not. Also darmian is a decent player, he could be our version of azpilicueta, we had neville at right back how quick was he?

I'd personally sell.
Schneiderlin -not convinced, would bring back some money.
Mata- Is getting on now and lacking pace to play under Mour, who we all know doesn't like his style. (I'd want to keep)
Fellaini- As someone else said, let him go to a team who plays to his strengths and in many cases Mour may keep him as his capabilities may suit his philosophy.
Schweinsteger- I'd want to keep him to swap with Carrick but the league seems to be to demanding for him and he isn't getting any younger.
Young- he's been okish under LVG, but he isn't a defender and he isn't any where near as a threat attacking as others in the team.
Romero- He'll probably stay, but makes too many mistakes for me. (very nerve racking watching him play)
Valencia/ Darmian- one of them has to go and another RB should come in as first choice.
Jones&Rojo- Jones will stay but to me both haven't done any good since LVG and I was surprised by how much Smalling improved and Jones didn't.
Januzaj- Has the ability but there are a few players within our youth system who have the capability of doing better than him and have bags more potential.

I'd keep Rooney because I think Mour would get the best out of him. I also hope Hererra stays because I can see him flourishing under Mour too.
I want Kante in the middle, more than any other player. If we get him, we could sell everyone I've mentioned and it wouldn't hurt us in any way. HE IS A MUST!
Pogba&James, we've been heavily linked to these two and they have exactly what the other midfielders I've mentioned lack other than Mata. Flair, skill, bags of tricks, Vision, pace and reaction time!
I would love for us to have Kante and one of James or Pogba, we've been linked to these players with abit of truth but I don't no and I personally can't see us signing them!
CB and RB for me have to be resolved. Asking TFM to step up in them roles may be too much too soon.
We should try an get Jack Butland but I can't see him being happy playing second fiddle when he's establishing himself to be Eng's best Keeper at Stoke!
But I'm not too sure on who we should sign at CB an RB and who may be looking at, maybe you have a few ideas GDS, Fresh, Ronnie and to the others I've missed?

I've not mentioned Varela CBJ and Lingard, because of there age i'm sure there safe to develop for the time being! Also I know I've said this before But Perierra, I really hope he gets his time to shine this season!
But Under Mour, will these players get any game time? I think out of all of them, only Lingard will be used frequently!

5 or 6 new signings are required and possibly 4 1st team squad members will go imo. that for me excludes the likes of varela blackett and co. Perhaps Bastian regrettably Mata rojo and fellaini
Of the 6 signings ibra well be short term 1 or 2 seasons which will help and allow the likes if martial depay and rashford progress improve and mature.
Assuming Bailey ibra and mickey are done deals I would like to see another cb and 2 central midfield players signed. Which would leave us with 2 options for every position.
DDG Romero. Darmian valencia Cbj Shaw. Jones smalling Bailey New cb. Herrera Morgan 2xnew midfielders Carrick tfm. Depay martial. Mickey lingard. Ibra rashford.
We would also have young mcnair and Rooney to cover multiple positions.

A Midfield of Schweiny Carrick Rooney Fellaini and even Mata is slow!
None of these players have pace to burn or ar that affective in a counter attack other than finding a pass.
Schneiderlin I don't rate at all. I rate Fellaini higher then him. I'd rather keep Fellaini than Schneiderlin. He has been Sh*T the whole season. Even Memphis had a few decent games. But Memphis has an excuse, he's younger and coming from a different league.
And I love Hererra, he's not larthagic I give you that, but he's been slow with the rest of the mid filed!
Valencia I've said before has put in decent work at RB, and I prefer him to Darmian. But you can't keep both in thst Position.

And Commen sense moyes, you're right we had Neville, but Neville knew how to deal with pacey players and he never got caught up top or made rash challenges running back because he was smart enough to play to his strengths. Darmian gets caught with his hand down his trouser when we're not in possession and having to track back, he's the one out of position NOT Smalling lol. But ok I give it to you about Smalling, he is no way world class or even prem standards, but he was better than Jones!

Interesting thing about stones everyone keeps saying how much potential the kid has seems like what people forget is Jones was similarly highly rated at about that age even Fergie said he could turn out to be one of the best players to ever play for us. My point is not to slate one and defend the other I just think we have enough potential especially at the back with Shaw and Bially it's time for proven quality. Sell Rojo keep Jones and bring in a proven cb bonucchi or garay would do for me.

Lol I find Smalling quite alright for premier league standards, (better than most) but to some people on here, he can't do no right. Yeah, it doesn't help with the Euros going on either, 1 minute there World class then the next there the most overrated player in the world!

I don't really have many ideas of who we should sign, I don't watch enough of other leagues to know about certain players, I really concentrate on the EPL and could tell you about most players here but foreign leagues I am not good on at all.
What recent history has proved though is that the players we are 'linked with' all summer are generally put in the press so that they have a story for when they go elsewhere. How many times do you see 'Manchester United lose out on target as he signs for xxxxxx', when he was only our target because that excuse for a paper said he was.
I find it better to sit back, not read too many media rumours, enjoy all the players people have seen once on BBC or ITV and suddenly have at the top of their wishlists, and then watch United sign somebody who has hardly been mentioned, like Martial, Bailly, Mkhitaryan.
