Would you take 20million for Rooney. I not offering I would not. pay £10 for him to make me a cup of tea as he mess it up. I would be very surprised if he does not retire from International football. Even when we were struggling for a goal tonight Roy had no faith in pushing him up front.

I could almost guarantee we would take nothing for Rooney if somebody would take 75% of his wages off our hands.

I'm sure his fans will be on to defend him. Blame Hodgson. Blame sterling. Blame Vardy. Blame the grass. Blame the weather.

That said its a team game an if the rest don't look bothered either why scapegoat just Rooney.

Would you give 20 million for any of hart, Cahill, walker, rose, alli, dier, Wiltshire, vardy, or any of the other dross performers tonight? Or maybe it's all rooneys fault that England are out. Football is a team game last time I looked x.

Yeah, I'd pay 20m for Ali.

50 million for sterling? 40 million for Kane? Glad we didn't go for Kane as he looks tired. I've always thought in interviews he makes Rooney look like he's a member of mensa. Kane is actually slow imo and got found out. I thought in the 1st half Rooney was our most creative possession player. Not sure about the negativity surrounding him. We missed welbeck as he plays better for his country than his club and we lacked wingers if your going to play 433. Rashford has done no harm though imo.

Rooney was shocking today absolutely shocking as were the other 10 around him.

Name one player that wasn't patheticly embarrassing. What I don't get is a team like Ireland has no so called super stars Yet they fight tooth and nail with so much pride, and then you get our waste of oxygen squad that have no fight what so ever. They're all too soft and told they're all amazing far too often. You can blame a lot of factors including management but if the players are not willing to die for the cause it doesn't matter who's in charge we'll always be pathetic.

Rashford, fortunately.

I thought the front 4 were so so poor and people seem to take out their frustration on rooney but if sturidge is the best England have then they are no where and deserve to be sent home.

Kane was shocking and dell ali did nothing and sterling was better but that does not say much. The fullbacks were the best of the team over 4 games IMO.

I think the manager has no clue to deal with adversity during the game and tactically a novice in the big games and his resume has nothing on it to warrant placing a nations hope into his hands.

I thought Dier had a decent tournament, and Walker. Alli looked like he was short of fitness, which considering he has just had his first season of EPL football and played nearly every game in Pochettino's high energy style its probably understandable.

Rooney had spells of good form, but faded when we needed him most.

Hart was shocking, Jack Butland is probably one of the big winners of the tournament. Or at least he should be.

Kane looked dead on his feet, Sturridge was very poor, either too greedy or poor end product. Sterling looked like a young Theo Walcott, loads of pace but lacking a brain. Vardy worked hard when he was given a chance but lacked the ability to link successfully with the team, the best stuff he did was closing down opposition defenders and harrying them into mistakes. Rose was solid without really doing a lot, he will lose his place to Shaw soon enough. Cahill was over the hill. And Smalling's lack of positional awareness and technical ability was shown up again. Lallana looked decent in spells but went missing too often. Henderson probably should have played a little bit more, would have probably had started him ahead of Alli due to Alli looking so tired with the view of bringing Alli on for the last 20 mins to add something different from the bench if we needed it. Rashford looked bright in his cameos, probably should have gotten more game time considering the poor performances of the players playing ahead of him.
