Mkhitaryan is a good player with a lot of talent can play out wide but is more a 10 from what I've seen.

He is a 10 and i think he will play there most of the time and rooney will end up playing in midfield. I think the 2 of them can be great as far as giving us impetus going forward and just ball distribution with an intent. we will still buy a out and out right winger IMO and not a coincidence we never made a bid for emboli and makes me think we are working on something else.

I think Mkhitariyan will play on the right.
Martial on the left
Rooney as no10
Ibra as striker.
Pace might be a worry but mkhitariyan isn't a slouch and martial has pace to burn.

Ibra and rooney both lack a bit of pace both drop deep to get the ball .
Dont make a pair imo.

Most of the times I've seen him play this season he has been on the right hand side and when not on the right he has been on the left (although he has played centrally, I'm told) .
Stats wise he looks effective anywhere across the front 3. He started on the right 19 times scoring 8 and assisting 9, on the left 13 times scoring 5 and assisting 7 and centrally started 6 scoring 0 and assisting 4.
If he can avoid injuries I think he will be a fantastic signing. He already speaks English (as well as 5 other languages as well) which is a nice bonus.

Think mourinho sees Rooney as most effective as a no.10
Hopefully this doesn't mean the end of mata who I think can be extremely effective with two fast wingers beside him.

Mikhitarian would be wasted playing out wide right and rooney is not his best at 10 anymore and likes the space that the midfield affords him.

X files but all of rooneys games in midfield last season he played as he most advanced midfielder in a more traditional 4-3-3.
In jose favoured system 4-2-3-1 rooney will not play in the 2 deeper midfielders. That leaves the no10 position where mourinho can accomodate rooney.

I don't think he played as the most advanced cm last season .
I agree with x i think he will play most his games as a deep cm.
Him and ibra are never a front 2 imo.
