Long time reader but now decided to get involved, if u look back and watch van gaals interviews u can see how wrong and outdated he was for united but at the same time he was what we needed at that time, I honestly believe this is the right time for mourinho, he can be his own man an wield power at united without an insecure billionaire having to assert his power, which I believe was Jose downfall at every club he's managed, he was never allowed to build on his dominance where as he will be allowed at united same as saf was, Joeyored.

Hi Joey - I was excited as I thought LVG was just what we needed, the problem was we needed the 1990's LVG not the OAP version.
He replaced over paid underperformers with even high paid players and bigger underperformers. We are exactly where we were under Moyes, but we have had 2 years more of losing prestige and millions down the drain, plus our current crop of players have been indoctrinated in some pretty woeful ideas about how to play the game.
Mourinho frankly in my mind was the only manager that could come in and give us back some credibility and sort out the mess. I just hope we get the Mourinho I remember not the one we saw before he was sacked at Chelsea - could we be making the same mistake again (manager past their peak), time will tell, but I'm confident he will do well.
