Pogba looked like Bambi on Ice. Pogbeck!
I didn't see it with this guy and have never really seen him shine (granted I haven't watched Juve more than a dozen times), he has undoubtedly got quality, but it is so unpredictable and reckless with the ball. He really does remind me of Paolo Wanchope - lanky legs getting a little poke to get himself out of trouble but nobody (most of all him) knows what they are going to do next.
I hope we don't go for him, seems to want too long on the ball and the EPL isn't for him, much better options for the money. Payet and Kante stole the show, but I fancy Griezmann as the right forward role.
Oh and why the hell is Giroud getting 75mins on Martial? Deschamps needs to watch a bit of the EPL.

I totally agree and can't understand the love for him. Good technically but, not excellent/ consistent in the position he plays in - overrated for me.
The way he left us and the reason he gave - lack of game time. very naive, you don't demand a place in the first team, you earn it by working hard. For me he really didn't do anything of note to be anywhere near our first team. There are players who are world class and there are others who think they are. and he seemed to be the latter. I wouldn't want him anywhere near our great club.
He has certainly done well at Juventus but, with all due respect to the Italian league it is nothing compared to the EPL. And he certainly doesn't seem to be a player that can run/ master the midfield on his own, especially in the EPL. There are much better options out there and I would rather have someone that values the club and puts a shift in and is determined to prove himself and would be proud to be part of our great club.

Agree that he could work on his consistency - most young players can. However I'm not sure if this analysis is based off of a couple friendlies and one game for the national team but Pogba is a special player and exactly what our midfield is crying out for. I don't believe for a second he would return to United and the price would be outrageously. But if it was reported that he was signing I would be over the moon. Supremely gifted technical player with a good eye for a pass, strong, good in the dribble, wicked shot, and will only improve.

Think we are lacking steel and drive in CM neither of which Pogba provides. Until he is more consistent and has more of an influence for 90 mins he's a luxury attacking player who is massively overpriced.
Kante or Pjanic for £25-30m, no comparison.

I believe Fosu Mensah could be destined for a central midfield role, if so, he may well add the steel and drive needed. We have needed creation drive and goals from midfield and Pogba can add that. Personally I don't understand why anyone is bothered about the price for a player, what does it matter to the fan? Let the Bank Manager be up in arms about cost and let us fans have the right player for the team. I would far rather the money was spent on players than going into the Glazers pockets.

I have watched him a lot and my observation off him is he can just go completely missing for long spells in the game. A player of that sort of valuation playing in midfield, your expect him to be the orchestrator and controller of play. Defensively he gets caught on the wrong side of his man and out of position quite often.
Don't get me wrong he is a good player but is a worldly Imo no. Is he going to be one, only time will tell. He is a physical specimen no doubt about that.

I know ajh doesn't like Pogba and I disagreed with him. However, I'm beginning to ajh's way of thinking. watching them last night, kante was more of an influence, his passing and tackling was superb. He popped up everywhere on the pitch. His interceptions and positional sense was perfect. And he controlled the game.
Give Leicester whatever they want and get him in our team. He's exactly what we're missing.
When France lost the ball last night, pogba didn't have any urgency to get it back, very disappointing. He also dwelled on the ball for too long as mentioned in another post, and that is disaster in the PL.
While I don't care what we pay for players, you don't want your club and it's reputation to be totally affected by paying ridiculously over the odds for players.

I think Shahram has got it right, he goes missing for long periods. For the hype and money being quoted I would expect so much more. Right now there are a handful of players that would immediately, are us title contenders: Rpnaldo, Messi, Bale, Suarez, possible Neymar. Then there R a bunch who would have a huge impact, Kante looks like one of them.

Kante is my full focus now. If we don't get him, I'll cry.

I might also add you know what you are getting with Kante: great work rate and positional sense besides his underrated ability on the ball. Pogba, on the other hand, is supremely talented but inconsistent. He relaxes off the ball far too often, and other times tries to do too much. I would be thrilled to get Pogba, but Kante makes more sense. He would be brilliant and slot right in at CM.
