It's great reading everyone's views on players and potential, signings but I do find myself in a minority a lot of the time.

I thought Stones was dreadful last year and whilst a lot of that might be to Martinez, he would be big risk at the prices being quoted.

Pogba I just don't get. I haven't seen a game where I have though he looked a great player. Moments of class but also long periods of average anonymity. I'm really not convinced by him and don't get all the fuss.

Zlatan has been done to death so I'll not go there again.

Martial's signing came out of nowhere and Bailly's is the same. Perhaps there will be more surprises.

Never have got the hype with pogba either tbh.

I agree with you on John Stones AJH. You aren't alone there.

On Pogba I think he is very strong, box to box and a good passer but imo his price is ridiculous. He ain't that good.

I think Ibrahimovic would just be a good a short term solution before Rashford takes over the season after next.

I like what I am hearing about Bailly. One friend described him as "Vidic-like" to me in that he is a clean tackler and takes the ball and also the man. His recovery pace is great and he is comfortable out wide as well, and a good dribbler.

It's not always a big name that needs to be signed. We have proved time and time again, the 'unknown' player has proven to be a hit over and over. I hope Bailly falls into the same bracket.

I agree on pogba he just doesn't have that aura in midfield that true class midfielders have his runs can be hit and miss at times but he has time to improve however I'm not convinced he's what we need right now.
Zlatan on the other hand is zlatan, the arrogance, the skill and guile. His quality in finishing is unrivaled and his hold up play is a joy to behold. French football is almost free to view here in Kenya so I get to see a lot of him he's class I'll be glad if we get him.
Stones I'm on the fence with him, I rather prefer Bially he's less talked about which could mean less pressure on the lad and that is good.

Enough has been said about them so I'll keep it simple.
No to Pogba
Yes to Zlatan
Yes to Bially
Yes to Stones.

We generally do better-off with the lesser known players as they can be moulded, see Ronaldo, De Gea etc.
Also, Stones is flavour of the year. Just like Rodwell, Barkley were sometime go.
Even Jones was there.
I'd prefer to have a centre half who first knows how to defend well and then be a ball player.
Look how good leicester have been with their centre halves and they weren't ball players.
My personal favourite still is Manolas.

I would love it if we got Mkhitaryan

05 Jun 2016 14:07:59
Completely disagree on pogba AJH he's one of the best players in his position if not the best.

05 Jun 2016 14:14:46
Hi guys, I agree on zlatan. Personally I think he is the right man in the right place at the right time. A really strong character and wherever he has played he had one and our dressing room and team badly lack leadership and inspiration and he will bring that both in and off the pitch. At times he acts stranger than a box of frogs but he always had done it in the pitch. He is still imo on of the best 10 players in the world and for sure his best years are propably behind him, he is not only coming for the final big payday and he is not trying to become a legend because he all ready is one. ☺
But is I think he us coming to cement that legend status by bringing us back to glory days and winning ways. He would love an epl title to cap off his cv.

I would prefer Fosu-Mensah to get game time than sign Pogba.
Would like us to sign one CM player but not him.

I do understand what everyone's point is and agreed Stones didn't have a very good season, but the guy is 21 for gods sake, but HUGE potential and I think that is what Jose sees!

Think back to Ferdy at 21, Huge potential but prone to odd mistake, just like Stones?

Think of Bailly as the Vida, no-nonsense, if in doubt get it out type player?

Personally I think potentially a partnership in the future will be rock solid!

05 Jun 2016 16:46:27
Id prefer Varane to partner Bailly in the future. I think those two will form a great partnership like Vidic and Ferdinand.

05 Jun 2016 17:12:51
Bailly is nothing like Vidic guys, please don't make the comparison.

05 Jun 2016 17:54:42
But he was a 12 at one stage in his life, that means Ronnie knows everything about him? (Yes these question marks are for effect) ?

05 Jun 2016 17:59:31
Stones is young and he has time to learn, and with the right coach in the right system may yet become a top player, but - as I've said on a few occasions - United fans have come on to this site in the past lusting after a number of Everton defenders who combined under Martinez have scarcely lit up the world with their individual or team qualities. That leaves Stones with much to prove, and makes a £50m price tag ridiculously high for the unfinished article.

As for Pogba, his style is so languid it frequently appears he's not really even trying that hard, rather like Toure. I would have preferred Vidal whose tenaciousness seemed to me would have suited the EPL. It's hard to see how Pogba would not provide something positive though, but would the club be prepared to pay the price, and even if they would, does he want to come back to us? I think not.

If we get neither of them it would not trouble me. Ibra and Bailly would strengthen us, as would the return of a fully fit Luke Shaw. If we're going to sell Mata, Fellaini, Januzaj, Young and Rojo among others we will have plenty room and money for three or four more signings to cover the additional CB, midfield and right wing positions. One of them could be a mega signing.

Tony

I agree on Pogba mate. he never bosses the midfield and more of an attacking mid and for 60 or 70 million I hope we don't go near him. Stones at 50 mill is also stupid money and someone else can have him for that price.

05 Jun 2016 19:59:40
If a manager feels a player is right for the team and the club can afford it I don't see the issue on how much a player cost .
I don't think a 21 year old cb will go for 50 mil .
If Everton don't wAnt to sell the player they will look for a stupid price that no team will pay .

But if Everton decide to sell the player they will have to accept a lower price .

Can't believe people are struggling with this.

05 Jun 2016 20:05:50
Save 80-100m, give Fosu a go and see what happens. Still need another midfielder though. I'd love Stones at OT under Jose and hope it happens.

05 Jun 2016 21:35:24
Ken well said I agree with that.
