Just read on the Euro soccer pages that Andre Gomes would of been signed in January but for the 'toxics' and a meeting about Saúl was planned.

Thankfully they didn't go ahead because we have changed the manager. And if interest remains from Jose I'm sure we can press on.

I think the possible saul signing would have been awesome regardless of the manager.

Irregardless fresh, it would have been nice to have strengthen the team. I think a change would have been made either way. LVG just wasn't a good fit for our great football club.

I know there are people saying 'toxics'. For me it was just an excuse not to back the manager. It obviously wasn't that toxic that the stadium was full every week and revenue for the club was higher then ever. Never bought into that line. It was just a nonsense line spouted by hierarchy at the club.

I agree angelred, how can a few kids complaining on twitter be classed toxic? let's be honest, the majority haven't even seen Manchester, let alone Old trafford.

The fans which mattered kept going to games, didn't boo or whip out white handkerchiefs in protest. They continued to sing the songs and cheer the lads on, despite it being dreadful.

I think the club used the 'toxic behaviour' to cover their real intentions.

IRREGARDLESS?!

I think the so called "toxics" saved the club from many years of misery football wise. Ultimately we were heading nowhere fast with this guy and without people bitching and moaning it could have feasibly carried on for another year under him and then Giggs taking over the "philosophy" - disaster in my mind.

I'm personally amazed it took as long as it did for the majority to jump on the LVG out bandwagon. But hurrah for the toxics.

PS - I don't believe anything the club says anymore, they have lost my confidence. Until the board/ decision makers change it is a problem for me.

We can still sign Andre Gomes today if we wanted it. I don't believe for a minute the club changes transfer decisions based on fans but the powers to be watched what the rest of us were watching and obviously thought not good enough.

X files,

I think there might be a element of truth in the uncertainty of manager situation leading us to cancel the january transfer plans.

Do you think it might have had to do with the fact we lost 5 or 6 on the trot and people might have been unhappy including the owners and cel at the club.

I think the club decided a while ago he had to go. Every club ambassador from Coles, to Yorke to Schmeichel wanted him gone. I meet Andy and Dwight here quite often and play golf with yorke sometimes so are they also toxic. shi. t is sh. t my friend and if calling it for what it is is being toxic then be it.

I assure you we are ten times better than chelsea, Liverpool, City fans. We still sold out every game and not one banner out the others one group are a bunch of spoiled brats with zero history, who think they should buy everything under the sun and another group still living in the 80s and a lot less forgiving.

You okay there red faith? Not a fan of the word irregardless? Lol!

Yes never bought the whole toxic thing, it covered the true intentions of the club.

They knew they wanted to get rid of LVG as far as January. It was noted that if he had been backed in January, he would have stayed. Club changed their mind, wanted Jose and blamed it on the so called 'toxics' what a load of tosh.

X file is right on the money .
The club lost faith with lvg just like the fans .
After 18 months and the cash the club had give lvg they would of been mad to give him an other 100 mil.

{Ed004's Note - Time to see how good Andre Gomes is}

Assuming there were any plans to sign players in January there is no way they were shelved because of toxic fans. Blame the manager, the club, the sponsors, the results, the non-signed players/ agents/ clubs, Paul Scholes and/ or the press before you blame the fans. No, I'm pretty convinced the club had already decided to move on from LVG and his soporific philosophy and, expecting to make a change, they weren't going to waste funds on players who might not fit the next manager's plans. The fans that matter - the ones that pay the money to go to the games - they were fantastic. The toxic fans concept is an obfuscation perpetrated by the club and, unfortunately, disseminated up by others with a political agenda.

Irregardless isn't a word I believe, angelred.
