LVG states that Ed Woodward failed to land any of his top transfer targets last summer. Would be really interested to know who they were, as a solid CB, a packet RW and a top CF would have made all the difference this term.

I do feel sorry for LVG, especially if the club have been saying everything is ok. I have not enjoyed the last 3 seasons, and will be pleased if we show a bit more attacking flair next season.

but I do think if wooden top has failed to supply the tools to allow the manager to succeed, then he needs to move back to an exclusive commercial role with the club and let someone who knows what they are doing take over football matters.

I think if giggsy throws his toys out the pram and leaves it will show limited foresight. I accept it must be frustrating, but he has the chance to learn from another world class manager and expert man motivator. And based on past experience he will only be here circa 3 years max. Be patient giggsy after all you didn't pull up any trees when moyes left and look at what happens to G Neville in Spain.

Attacking flair and Mourinho obviously go hand in hand, lol.

Maybe Woodward has failed him in attracting top names but then again Leicester proved you don't always need the top names. So who was on the B list?

We courted Ramos for a summer and didn't get him. Our alleged interest in Otamendi saw him go to City instead. But we identified CB as a priority and signed no-one? Bearing in mind loss of Evans previously and Jones horrific injury record why was Blackett loaned out when a CB wasn't coming in?

Decisions such as those show its a combination of errors I think but ultimately the manager is responsible.

We can't say he hasn't been backed in the market can we?

Yes we could have handled it much much better but that's United for ya! Shocking.

As for Giggs - if rumours are true that he has refused to work with Mourinho then he is being very very shortsighted. Most young coaches would give their right arm to work for Mourinho at one of the biggest clubs in the world. The fact that he was a playing legend does not mean to say he gets the manager's job by default. Just like Moyes before him he simply is not qualified to do it. Jose is. And if he can't work with him then he needs to move on with our best wishes.

There are 40-50 different centre backs that would be an improvement on what we have at the back. That EW was unable to sign any of them is just plain unlikely.

I expect that LVG asked him to go out and sign Ramos.

So if we win the cl do we give Woodward credit for getting the players and not the manager. Its kind of a silly statement as no manager gets every player he wants but the good ones will find solutions to problems and not be teflon like and claim none is their fault.

I thought it was our fault we didn't get these transfers.
