Hi Ed001

How does city manage to keep its top players from not joining real Madrid? I'm sure Kun Aguero wants to join Real and he is one of their main targets. Whenever Real's Interested in a player of ours they get their man. So what are city doing differently to us? Ed002 would most likely say this isn't how it works.

{Ed001's Note - Aguero has little interest in joining Madrid, that is the difference. De Gea, for instance, was desperate to go home to Spain, Aguero would like Barca, but his time at Atletico has made him not so keen on going to Real Madrid. Other than that, they have made sure it is never going to be a problem by buying players that are not good enough for Madrid to want them....}

Agree0 Disagree0

i don't think u can say that about de bruyne, who i am sure madrid will come calling for in a season or 2.

Haha, love it Ed001. We seem to be deploying the same tactic. Shame their undesirables are one place better than our undesirables :D.

{Ed001's Note - long term though, you will both stick it to Leicester when their stars are poached by the top teams, while you both plod on without any. Just look at Liverpool losing Suarez and Spurs losing Bale. Much better just not to get any top quality players, unless their legs have gone and they have weight issues.....}

also ed001 if u r around what do u think happens to giggs now, for me it would be a disaster if he stays, his friends in the media will restart the giggs for manager campaign at first sign of any distress, that is the sort of bull that needs to be stopped for good now.

{Ed001's Note - that could well be the sticking point of any deal, the club wants to keep him in situ, I am not sure any incoming manager will want that. Jose before the disaster at Chelsea would have felt strong enough to not have to worry about that. Would the one after that disaster still feel that he can handle any pressure? I am not so sure, his position is nowhere near as strong as it should be. That is a major issue in my opinion. I just don't see the club getting rid of him, unless they are over a barrel.}

thanks ed, hopefully jose and mendes stick to their guns about giggs, jose has other options, man utd don't, the fans will go ballistic if van gaal stays another season, and there is no one good enough willing to come right now.

{Ed001's Note - but United do know that Jose really wants the job and so he doesn't really have many other options.}

22 May 2016 06:07:20
as i see it ed, jose wants the job bcz he wants to manage man utd not bcz he has no else to go to, with utd we have no else to go to, especially with the adidas clause hanging over the head.

{Ed001's Note - there are always other options on both sides. They have backed themselves a bit into the corner, both parties, imo.}

i absolutely agree with u ed, still hoping giggs goes though.

{Ed001's Note - I think he needs to go, he should have left years ago and been brought back to earth. Seen how the rest of the football world operates without the huge budgets etc.}

22 May 2016 07:11:50
Thanks Ed, was under the impression Kun wanted the real switch.

{Ed001's Note - he has never made any push to leave City, no matter what his agent has suggested when contract negotiations are coming up.....}

City is a part time job on full time money for Aguero. We all want one of those🙂.
