To add to the LVG gripes, I can't stand that he has tried to claim all the credit for bringing in the youngsters. As is well documented here already, the youngsters were only brought in due to his poor signings, or lack thereof, along with our injury record this year. BUT what really gets me is him subbing off the youngsters immediately after just one mistake and then ostracising them from the team altogether. Fosu-Mensah and Varela are two prime examples. Far from how a truly youth-focused coach/ manager should conduct themselves.

Is linders one of them youngster?
Who you say is shock8ng and shouldn't be in the starting line up, as well as a bell end .

Obviously not jred as he's still a regular in the starting line up. He's had a decent breakthrough season but been very frustrating of late.
But Fosu and Varela should have been treated better in my opinion, esp considering our lack of quality at full back.

Rave,

There are a couple of ways of looking at how he has dealt with players who have made mistakes. Do you keep them in and let them make more mistakes and cost us games or take them out of the limelight a bit, they have had a taste of the first team so will now want to work hard to get back there. We don't know what LVG is saying to them behind the scenes, but I am guessing they are not being 'ostracised'.

So linders should of been dropped just like fosu and varela, .

This is linders first full season in the epl and compared to other players in the squad i think he has done really well.

Strange how players like mata herrera schneiders depay have all been far worse but that is down to lvg but a player like linders who imo has shown promise just needs (again in his first full season ) to sharpen up a couple of aspects of his game .

jred either you're missing the point or I'm not getting it across to you.
I'm not knocking him for playing Lingard. The difference between Lingard and the other two is that he's an attacking player whilst they are defenders. So if he misses a sitter or misplaces an easy pass in the final third, it isn't as conspicuous as, say, a penalty conceded by a defender.
So it would take more patience and/ or balls to give a young defender who has made a mistake another chance to make amends, which LVG simply hasn't shown, despite his boasting about the youth.
Fosu-Mensah in particular looked rock solid until that penalty against Everton. He should've been back in the team.
Varela showed a lack of positional discipline but his drive and energy was a breath of fresh air, almost alien to our team this year. Yet he's totally out of favour.
Slightly aside, don't get me started on how good Pereira has looked in the U21s without a sniff at the first team.

Fosu looks a prospect but very much one for the future.
His passing is suspect and his positional sense was poor, all be it in a role he hasn't played a lot . against spurs he was all over the place and played more like a cb than a rb .

Looks like he is going to be a top player but is a year or 2 off the first team imo .

The thing is your kicking off about foshu varela getting dropped while also arguing another of the youngster linders should also be dropped .

I like Varela, but you've got to hand it to Tony V - he's been very good since he's come back into the team. Such a pity, like the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, that he doesn't have a brain.

Or a left foot.

19 May 2016 17:14:22
Yes, but he is both buff and rugged.

19 May 2016 17:51:23
Smooth, rather than rugged.

19 May 2016 17:58:57
And pereira? I don't think he has been treated right.
