Seeing Jose keep getting asked about United and jobs, his smirk indicates he knows something I think. 'I just keep enjoying my life, no agreement', hmm ok Jose ha, could be wrong but he just seems too calm and too quiet.

He will know by now for sure. I just hope that a Cup win doesn't swing the board.

17 May 2016 10:16:40
ed1 you think a cup win could save him don't you? It'd be poor I think to sack Moyes for it then not LVG.

{Ed001's Note - could. Purely because the club really do not want to move him on yet. Personally though, I still think they will be forced to sack him, I think he will force their hand in the summer.}

Why don't they want to get rid? It can't be because of the football side of things, or even the financial side of things with the damage he has had on the share price and sponsorship revenues etc.

Ed due you mean forced by the fans or do you think LVG will leave himself?

{Ed001's Note - himself. I think he will expect to be backed or sacked in the summer and force the club to do one or the other. I can't see the club wanting to back him unless the FA Cup final is a one sided thrashing and the club is on a high afterward.}

{Ed001's Note - two reasons mainly. First one being it reflects badly on Woodward to hire and fire two managers from a club that prides itself on giving them time. Secondly he is afraid to give up on the plan set up and see the club lose its stability, and never recovering, as so many have done in the past.}

@Ed001

I agree about backing him or sacking him and I think we should have done either of the two in december and ended up doing neither.

I think all things considered, fan unrest, the media being against him, the players not really wanting to play for him, failure to get out of the UCL group and qualify for the UCL and the awful football we have seen as well as the poetic justice of missing out on the UCL because of goal difference should see him sacked really.

What I don't get is what is so special about this long term plan for the club that the club don't want to sack LVG? How is a change in the first team coach going to change the club's long term planning? Yes a couple of transfer targets may change but that is about it really. Nothing else needs to change.

Also according to Ed002 the plan was to give Allegri a 5 year contract in 2017, and since he has signed a new deal I assume that plan is no longer there. Its not as if only Jose is the candidate. I think folks just want to see LVG gone and some sanity return to the place. Koeman, Roger Schmidt etc could all do a good job too.

What are your thoughts on the long term plan?

{Ed001's Note - I think it was a decent enough plan if they had actually made sure to get Allegri. Now it is in tatters. LVG is a dead duck, for me the plan needs to be changed.}

17 May 2016 13:42:25
Hasn't Ed002 already said that, that plan is now out the window?

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

17 May 2016 14:34:17
Yeah allegro signed a new deal with Juve I believe, I think the crowds hostile reception towards LVG, rightly or wrongly, left the 'plan' up in the air and obvs now has passed, the let must be some sort of plan anyway by now surely as in 1 year LVG leaves for definite and with Jose being available I think it makes sense to bring that plan forward a year and not waste anymore time.

Welsh

I actually think our fans are somme of the most tolerant mate. Have a look at any of the top 10 teams in Europe and the fans are so intolerant to a fraction of our under achievements at their clubs if they had our resources.

I have not seen one banner at any games and I think he has been given all the rope he can handle to hang himself all on his own.

Bayer, Barca, real, chelsea, city, PSG, Juve to name a few would have sacked their manager in december if they went through a run like we did.

He has been utter useless imo opinion and so underwhelming in every aspect. his quotes are amusing but that about it.

Yeah our fans are patient no doubt, I was just thinking of a word other than toxic to use when the fans was unhappy in December.
