Watching Spurs get nine players booked yesterday shows just how much the pressure got to them and contrasts with how Leicester had a few seasoned old pros who were real leaders in their team and a passionate but collected manager. I am surprised that not more has been debated about how Spurs blew their chances under the pressure of the run in. Also it does show that we need a few real mature leaders in our team if we are to mount a serious challenge for titles next year.

CONTRARY to what LVG thinks we do have high expectations and it is entirely reasonable to do so given the resu standing of the club and where Sir Alex left us. We need a manager capable of handling the pressure without making inane or just plain stupid observations about the team and the way we play. With all due respect to Leicester they are not a great footballing team. They would be slaughtered by most top European teams. For LVG to say we played one of our best games against them on Sunday is to entirely miss the point. We should be beating them comfortably. I do not think LVG is unintelligent but it is very puzzling how he fails to understand what we fans expect and also how he fails to see what we do. There is obvious potential in this team but he is just not the man to realise it. h.

I think saying we should be beating the best team in the league comfortably is unrealistic. When we look back on this season it won't be a draw against leicester that has held us back from achieving what we wanted to. More likely games for regret are the amount of points we've dropped against teams in the bottom half.

Lvgs approach and results in big games against the top team has been rather good. Its his approach against the clubs at the bottom of the table which has been baffling and our results in such fixtures has been abysmal.

Th club and lvg have suffered from his stubborn sterile approach which could have easily been avoided which is probably the most dissapointing thing about his whole tenure.

What do Leicester have to do, to convince people?

They beat City, West Ham, Chelsea and Spurs away, and only lost to a last minute goal away to Arsenal.

What have we done this season to make people think it was going to be anything other than a tough match at the weekend?

It was always going to be a difficult match on Sunday. Leicester are champions. 3 defeats all season says it all.
However imo we had 2 midfielders on the bench who imo would have contributed more than others that started. There was a lack of belief in the players that we could win a lack of urgency in what was a must win game.
I don't expect us to roll over Leicester but I do expect us to try and push them over not be as submissive as we were.
There was a lack of belief, desire and urgency and that comes from the manager imo.
Team selection is one thing as I would imagine if you asked 100 people to name a team you would Get at least 90 different answers. But I'm pretty sure that if I were Morgan or Herrera I would be very p#ssed off if he played Rooney ahead of me in midfield. I'm pretty sure seeing the desilva boys playing ahead of him in midfield was the last straw for pogba.
Rooney was no worse than fellaini on the day but that's not saying much.
I hope he plays Rooney as a forward in the cup final or not at all.

What has herrera done to be in the starting 11?
Truth is he has been poor all season .
Its no surprise herrera can't get in the starting 11 .
Ken you should change your name to any one but rooney .

Lvg has left both herrera and morgan out a lot this season sometimes even when rooney was injured.

Herrera has turned in to kagawa another player who for various reason had 1 good game in 2 year .
But people go on and on about them because they like that type of player .

My personal opinion is herrera has been awful this season and doesn't merit a start.

Jred I said Rooney should be a forward. He is not a midfielder I also think its unfair on him to be playing in a position that does not suit his skill set.
He tries as hard as always but is not a midfielder and is less effective there than he is in a forward position.
I understand you feel the need to defend him always but he is not in the 3 best midfielders at the msnagers disposal imo. So why play him there? He would not get into the midfield in any top 6 club and not in any top cl club either.
If the manager feels he Has to play him then at least play him in his best position.
It's not a case of anyone but Rooney its a case of best players in their best positions.

Ken
He doesn't have to play for any of the top 6 team its just united pal.
And imo there is a reason he is playing ahead of sneiders herrera and bastion .
For me it is either carrick or morgan far to defensive when both play and very slow . Neither have played together since we got stuffed against spurs .
Herrera hasn't started since he was subbed against west ham, linders fellaini and mata have all played the advanced acm .
And if herrera isn't happy with that well tough he needs to do more to earn his .
I don't think the deep cm role suits herrera at all to be honest .
Rooney has added a range of passing to the cm and more important the ball goes forward more often .

We have prob played our best football last few games and not sure what herrera has done this season to not be happy he isn't starting games ahead of mata fellaini and co?
I agree cm is not rooneys best position but its not all about rooney and at the moment it better for the team if he plays there .

I think our cm unit looks better with him in it.

By the way its more about herrera, what has he done, like i say its just like kagawa.
You can add depay another player people are always shouting about .
He has been our worse player this year imo .

Zaha was the same .

I have the utmost respect for what Leicester have done this season. Its been a pleasure to see them win and beat the big boys but the reality is that Utd in their pomp and likewise Chelsea Arsenal and City would have strolled this league. Nome of us were good enough so hats off to Leicester but it just shows how poor our league has been. It is possible that City win the Champions League but overall one has to acknowledge that the top four in the Spanish league and Bayern and Dortmund are better and significantly so than our teams this season (and before you scousers start screaming yes you did beat Dortmund but they are a far better football team at the moment than you) So in making that point it leads me to reaffirm that LVG had a huge chance this season to win the league and do well in Europe. He has failed miserably on both fronts and whilst failing we have also endured poor unattractive football apart from a few isolated games.
