Was watching Blind taking corners and then I watched Barcelona Real and athletico and their corners were completely different.
Blind kicks the ball very high and with less speed. While all the aforementioned teams have corner takers who deliver a slightly lower trajectory but with more power and swerve. Spurs are also a good example.
I can't believe that we don't have someone who can provide a better delivery than Blind.

I was watching Beckham's crosses and corners the other day on youtube and it was such a joy to watch. Amazing technique yet he made it look so easy.

I'd say that's down to LVG selecting him as the corner taker.

Might be better for some one like Rooney to take them, but at the same time you'd want him in the box.

I feel Herrera's crossing is a but underrated as he generally puts them low and with a faster speed.

We have two main corner routines (not including the 50% of the time we don't even bother hitting it into the box) : (a) queue players on the edge of the box and they all rush toward goal, and (b) hit it high and slow in the direction of Fellaini. Neither of these routines ever work, but we persist. As bad as Blind is as a corner taker, it doesn't matter who takes them while we persist with such awful routines.

Reminds me of another observation. Free kicks too seem off. Would like to see one player ready focused walking up to the ball to set the kick, than two hovering
deciding who, then one of them (too slowly for smooth) runs over the ball. by then, focus can't be right. Set pieces seem too over designed and not enough freedom for creative adlib.

I remember a few corners that worked out with blind but its a little bit gimmicky . lower trajectory fast and determined scares defenders keeps attackers sharp.

One point about Blind taking corners that I haven't seen is that it takes him out of the game. He isn't the quickest so if the corner is headed out he has to get back to position likely from the furthest away on the pitch. It's one thing a central defender going up for a header but corner duty probably adds 25 yards to Blinds run back into position.

It isn't as if his corners have created anything, surely someone else can take them and put a bit of fizz into it?

Our entire set play stuff is bait bizarre and produces nothing but we have been doing it for 18 months and never change anything with it.
