I love reading everyone's opinions (even Ronnies) but it's quite funny to listen back and see what has happened. There are a few that got away who I wish we'd sighed - Aguero, Hazard, Suarez, Sanchez but there are others.

Many were upset when Chelsea swooped in and nicked Pedro from us and quite a few were suggesting Benteke would be a good option. So far, looks like we dodged a couple of bullets there. Then there is Gary Neveille who was being touted as a good choice for our next Manager. I know Valencia are struggling but no win in 9 League games suggests he is not the Messiah. I really don't see why he took the job as if he ends up back in the TV studio fans will be thinking "yes mate, but you were useless as a Manager".

We signed one of the most exciting talents in Europe and he has struggled, whilst we also signed a player most of us had never heard of and he has been a revelation. None of us mention Mahrez but I guess we'd take him tomorrow.

I'm as bad as anyone, I still want Giggs as Manager but who knows how that might turn out. I guess it shows that unless you are buying the absolute top players, it's always a gamble.

Also some players can be outstanding in one team, but pants in another. The whole jigsaw has to fit. Remember when the class of 92 came through, they all knew eachother and it clicked.

Perhaps he takes chances in life and doesn't always play it safe. People sit on their arses and criticise better men all the time. Nev didn't let them stop him taking a chance. Good on him. Lesson for us all.

I don't remember people saying the same things about Andy Grey, who was a sublime pundit but awful manager, or better yet I don't hear people saying it about Alan Shearer who had a similar timeframe in management.

Neville will go and do whatever he wants to do and if he ends up back on TV then viewers will be all the more pleased in my opinion.

{Ed001's Note - when was Andy Gray a manager? He turned down the chance to manage Everton because Sly gave him a payrise.}
