A while back ed002 said allegri was the plan to succeed van gaal, but this may change if lvg leaves/ sacked before his contract is up.
There seems to be a lot of noise about Allegri now going to Chelsea next season, so do you think this means van gaal will Leave in summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2016 12:53:00
I think he will go. Step down citing age/ health/ family to save face and retire.

Poch for me should be the main contender.

09 Feb 2016 13:37:23
Why would poch leave spurs for united. Yes you are a massive club but spurs have a much brighter future than Utd one of the best training facility's in the league a top new stadium being built and top talent players . How many united first team would get into spurs.

{Ed004's Note - De Gea, Darmian (Walker is brutal), Smalling, Shaw, Schneiderlin/Carrick (you's wanted Schneiderlin), Martial and arguments for Mata who is probably the better player vs Lamela but Lamela is on form imo ofc. Pochettino has got you playing brilliantly as a team. He's a fantastic manager}

09 Feb 2016 13:49:00
Just goes to show an average team can be good under a top manager.

09 Feb 2016 14:05:20
He would go for the same reason anyone would. One of the biggest clubs in the world, a challenge to get us back on top, more money to buy players, more money in his own pocket. That's not to say he definitely will go, or that Spurs aren't a brilliant team with an amazing history, but the reasons he might go are not hard to come by.

09 Feb 2016 14:43:37
You cannot be serious Ed004?. DeGea v Hugo evens, Darmian v Trippier evens, Toby or Jan all day ahead of Smalling, Shaw v Davies evens, Dembele or Dier all day ahead of Schneiderlin or Carrick. Martial and Mata probaly but we got Harry and Dele. Man Utd can offer more money but does he want to work with that squad and those egos? He's pretty much unsackable at Spurs now. If we get top 3 he won't be leaving.

{Ed004's Note - Honestly stopped reading after De Gea vs Hugo evens. No point continuing on}

09 Feb 2016 14:55:46
Lloris as good as de gea? Come on mate wake up, not even on the same planet. Shaw schneiderlin and martial would all walk into your side.

{Ed004's Note - And then he said Shaw was equal to Davies (facepalm).}

09 Feb 2016 15:13:24
I'm more concerned that he seems to be talking like a TV Meerkat.

09 Feb 2016 15:44:00
Ed, schniderlin and Carrick over dembele and errikksen give it a rest. Your centre half's over alderwereld and vertonghen is laughable. And Mata would not get into our team give me chadli or son everytime. Martial over Kane no chance . Only Rooney and de gea would get in our team. This is one of the poorest man Utd teams in many years and you know it.

{Ed004's Note - Were did I say Schneiderlin or Carrick over them two. I'd a slash in between them because I'd partner one of them with Dembele although don't know how you compare Eriksen with two defensive midfielders (maybe shows you're knowledge slightly). Your wonderful defence that has been consistent all season (with a consistent team - very few injuries make a huge difference) has conceded only 4 less goals. However, Smalling has had to to play with Varela, Valencia, Young, Blind even McNair and Borthwick Jackson consistently in defence. He's had no mainstay defenders beside him and has had to marshal countless make shift back lines but ok lets discredit everything he's done. I never once said Martial over Kane. Last I checked Kane didn't play out left wing most of the season. I can't even comprehend how you pick Chadl or Son over World Cup winner, 2x Chelsea payer of the season and I cba looking up his other personal awards - Mata. And I think the bit that sums your whole post up is that youd take Rooney in your team...}

09 Feb 2016 16:58:11
poch like moyes has won nothing, infact i don't think he has ever finished top 4 .

09 Feb 2016 18:14:41
No disrespect, but what planet are these Spurs supporters operating from?

09 Feb 2016 18:23:32
Jred

I had noted that very point, Pochetino is another risk and it could be argued that Moyes had a better cv than him. I think Pochetino has a lot of potential and described him as a dark horse a couple of weeks ago but it is very early days to take what has to be yet another massive risk. If Woodward goes for Pochetino, ignoring a manager like Jose who like it or not is big enough for the job, and it goes wrong it could put Woodward under extreme scrutiny.

09 Feb 2016 18:35:04
I think they've been smoking too much crazy stuff down seven sisters lately.

09 Feb 2016 18:54:28
redman
poch done well at southampton but i think koeman done better, finished higher and had to sell his best players .
he has done a good job at spurs but we are talking about a manager who has only been in the job for 5 year never finished top 4, won anything or done it at the very top.
is he really ready for united?

09 Feb 2016 19:02:14
Lloris even with De gea, let that sink in for a bit.

Shaw and Davies also even LMFAO! Borthwick-Jackson I'd take over Davies.

09 Feb 2016 19:02:57
Jred

I think it's right we should look at the alternatives but Poch is yet another risk at a time when we can't afford a third mistake.

09 Feb 2016 19:14:03
Shaw and Davies hahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahahahahaha 😂😂😂.

09 Feb 2016 20:21:34
I think some of you mancs were revisiting the Hacienda days writing these posts. All you have done all season is moan about your players and Lvg and now your backing them over superior players.

Lloris is easily just as good as De Gea, if not better. Darmian better than Walker, behave. Even Trippier is better. The only Utd players that would get in the spurs team at mo is Luke Shaw (providing he fully recovers) and that's it lads, that's your lot. To say Smalling would get in is hilarious.

Before you get upset I ain't saying spurs are bigger you can have that, Asia is yours. There is no way Pochettino would leave what he has at spurs for you lot, no chance. You might want him but want is all it is, Neil Custis is the worst Journalist ever, Fergie's lil brown nose.

{Ed004's Note - I cba even putting effort into a reply for this. I'd be better of talking to a wall. I thought Liverpool fans were the most deluded... We've got a new competitor for that title}

09 Feb 2016 20:39:20
To be fair ed I said it all for you.

{Ed004's Note - Very good you've just come on and gone your wrong I am right but I'm putting no substance or evidence behind why I am right}

09 Feb 2016 20:43:14
Oh and you say Liverpool fans are the most deluded, they moan a lot at the moment and who can blame them but imo they are probably the most knowledgeable fans around.

09 Feb 2016 20:47:00
i think we have a good squad but very few have agreed with me, maybe only ajh to be honest .
seem a few think we have a good team after all.

09 Feb 2016 20:52:42
Your being a tadge defensive ed. Some of what I put is obviously tongue in cheek to wind you up. On current form, 'at the moment', spurs are superior. You won't get Pochettino.

{Ed004's Note - Not really just cba repeating myself or putting effort into replies. West Ham game has gotten good}

09 Feb 2016 21:04:28
Martial, Shaw, DDG - only three worthy of being in a PL winning team in my opinion - the only three our rivals would take, maybe Schneiderlin, but he needs to do more. I'd take the 2 CB's of Spurs, Dier, Alli, Kane and Mason.

Eriksen and Mata, much of a muchness.

Spurs first 11 is better than ours imo.

09 Feb 2016 21:14:32
beast
next month if united play well and spurs dip will our players be better .
leicester must have the best 11 players in the league?

09 Feb 2016 21:22:37
Jred,
I have maintained along with yourself that this squad is better than some are saying.

{Ed004's Note - Just poorly managed then?}

09 Feb 2016 21:46:25
ctr
sorry my man missed u of the list.

09 Feb 2016 21:51:29
I think so ed, that and also a bit of bad luck injury wise too.

{Ed004's Note - I think we have been terribly affected by injuries. So unfortunate with injuries especially at full back. Can't even blame the management as it has been impact injuries and not muscle ones}

09 Feb 2016 22:51:15
No u can't blame the management for the injuries.

The poor tactics and team selection is questionable imo.

Beast,
Mason really?

Rayray,
If lloris was half the keeper De Gea is, he'd be twice the keeper he is.

Walker is so overrated because he's English and other than Clyne (another overrated player) os England's real only choice.

Your CB'S are really good and work well together.

Shaw is miles better than any of your lb's.

Alli what a prospect, I'd have him in a heart beat.

Ericksson is player I've always rated but it's close with him and Mata.

Martial would walk into your team.

Kane is this season proving to be the real deal.

U seem to forget this time last season all spurs fans were writing off a large part of your team and some questioned Poch and his methods, so please excuse us I'd we don't jump aboard the 'spurs are amazing' train just yet, after all what have you done?

{Ed004's Note - Good post. Also pretty sure it was Spurs fan in live chat a few weeks ago slating Eriksen. Amazing how a couple of decent performances and he's better than Mata again}

09 Feb 2016 23:36:56
Walker has improved a lot this season, injuries hampered him last season aswell as stupid positioning causing mistakes but Pochettino has really got him playing well.

Eriksen had a big dip in form and has picked it up the last three weeks, all he needs is a few goals.

I beg to differ about Lloris, he suits spurs with his sweeper style.

Who would Martial replace?

09 Feb 2016 23:50:15
Martial would replace lamela, Ericsson or chadli take your pick.

Walker is no different everytime I watch him, he's an English Moreno.

If poch was offered the job he'd take it. Don't be fooled at all by your position rayray. In a poor league this year u are doing well, normal service will resume soon is my guess.

10 Feb 2016 00:06:27
As for the De Gea argument I shouldn't even have to explain that, one is the best reflex gk on the planet, a great catcher of the ball from crosses, great in 1v1 situations and arguably the best gk in the world and the other is lloris.

10 Feb 2016 01:12:14
Ahem, jred (cough) . me. (cough)

10 Feb 2016 07:18:01
At least now none of us want Spuds to win the league. Poch is a flash in the pan. Not too long ago he was on the verge of relegation in Spain, now he is the new messiah. You're teling me after working his way up much to hid credit via Southampton and Spurs that if Chelsea, United or any large Spanish side came calling he wouldn't go!? Nonsense. Saints fans think he's a snake, and he will do the same to Spurs when the big boys call. Might I remind you he's stil done nothing of note yet. He may wel do, but we can't take the risk. Jose for me.

10 Feb 2016 09:09:39
The next manager of United must not be a risk. I note Rio Ferdinand is now saying what I have been posting on here for a long time, get the next appointment wrong and we could face a period without winning it like Liverpool. Now is no time for high risk strategies, now is the time for a proven winning modern manager. Pochetino in time maybe if he continues to prove himself but not yet.

10 Feb 2016 14:13:54
Spurs fans must rank up their with the thickest.

This new stadium they are moving into will eventually be paid for by the NFL franchise that will share the stadium.

I mean, , West Ham were deemed a more well supported London club, hence why they got the Olympic stadium.

I will laugh my rocks off if we finish above them with our supposedly substandard team.

10 Feb 2016 16:18:54
Tuor, West Ham were awarded the Olympic Stadium purely on geographical reasons, the E20 postcode coming under West Hams catchment. At least our fans are genuine, not just tourists.
