Seen a lot of debate about Jose and his benefits and flaws if he were to become our manager.

I'd love Jose as he's a proven winner and he would certainly attract big names to our club and we'd maybe regain a bit of our old pulling power that our clubs name used to have. Hard to admit it's declined but it really has unfortunately as nobody with flair that gets you on the edge of your seat would want to sign for this team unless they were a boyhood united fan and even then they'd think twice.

I have two points I'd like to make on Jose and the restructuring of the club though.

1) He did say he intended to build a legacy at Chelsea, would he also have that in mind with United, there's only so many top clubs a manager can go round and he's managed in every major league apart from France now so he may want to concentrate on his legacy now he's experienced most of what football has to offer. He did also play the likes of Loftus Cheek to show he could bring youth through.

In contrary to this though that's only one youth player I can name that he has brought through (probably more but I don't watch Chelsea enough) . Who is also to say that he would've stayed at Chelsea as well had he been successful. Also the allure of a free spending team like PSG where he could practiy do what he wants in a relaxed easy league and concentrate solely on the champions league to add more European cups to his cv could be very appealing for him. Also with transfers he can worry me as he does seem to let go of a few talents that flourish at other clubs, whether that's down to him or the epl is another matter though. Then again look at De Bruyne.

However he's known to respect Alex Ferguson and it's known worldwide the love us fans have for him or any of our club legends, no other club can compete in that respect so who wouldn't want to be an Old Trafford legend. He knows he'll have more time as well with Ed Woodward seemingly reluctant to be a trigger finger.

2) This brings me onto my second point, would it not be possible for Jose to manage his usual three years if so desired and concentrate fully on the first team with Ryan Giggs and Alex Ferguson (who would reportedly help him if he became manager) concentrating on the youth set up. I know there are problems with this as you want the full club playing the same style and what not and Giggs may not be happy being sidelined for three more years. But he is a united legend and his love for the club may delay him into this being acceptable which would result in the youth set up in 3 years time playing how Giggs wants them to and he would inherit a team that would have superstars attracted by Mourinho (albeit he could take them back with him to a new club), a team on the rise and hopefully on top of the epl, Guardiola gone from city as well and a happy old Trafford.

This would be better for Giggs as opposed to inheriting the cauldron (and rightly so) that is old Trafford and players who have lost the ability to pass forward and even live by the looks of it. Even Dwight Yorke would lose his smile playing in this team.

Pipe dream I know but it's the best of both worlds as I'd love Jose for the excitement but I love united due to the history and the legacy and the survival in the face of adversity we show time and time again.

Personally I would be pretty disappointed if the club hired Mourinho. I feel like people only talk about a handful of managers as being good enough to manage United, but in reality there are plenty of top managers out there who could lead the club and do a much better job than LVG at the moment. I'm not a fan of LVG's playing style, (who could be? ) but I appreciate the work he has done reshaping our squad and I think that whoever succeeds him will have a very good group of players to work with.

Also I don't buy the sentiment that United can no longer attract flair players. Did we not just sign Martial and Depay this last summer? And Di Maria the summer before? The allure of playing for United is still large and money talks.

What Jose wants and what he can do are very different things. In his second spell at Chelsea he said he wanted to build a legacy but left even quicker than he did in his first spell at Chelsea. His style just doesn't work long term, and if he changed it would he be as successful another way?

As for giving youth a chance he hardly gave Loftus-Cheek a chance, even when Matic was playing appalling badly he still didn't give the lad a chance.

There is next to no chance that Giggs will stick around to be an assistant again, and would Jose even want him? He has always replaced all the staff for his own when he's moved to a new club.

As for Sir Alex stepping in and having more of a hand on things, not only is that a very bad idea. But one I serious doubt Sir Alex would be interested in.

Mourinho is a winner. He has won in all countries and he has stood shoulder to shoulder against Pep and cone out on top. He'll also attract the "top" players who we desperately need.
If anyone tries to argue with his record then they're deluded.

I'm not arguing with his record, its one of the best.

LvG has one of the best CV's in world football management too. What you have achieved in the past is not aways a garentee of achieving the same in the future.

If you want to look at records then don't just look at his CV, look at his record of ignoring youth players, look at his record of cheating, look at his record of dragging his clubs name through the mud and look at his record of never completing three seasons with a club.

Look at the whole picture not just a small section of it.

I've never argued that Mourinho would bring some form of short term success. I just feel that he would drag the club down further to achieve it. Which is something I wouldn't be prepared to accept.

I don't see any better options to get success and go up against Pep Shappy.

Mourinho: proven winner. Proven in the Premiership. Proven in Europe. He is the right age at 52 to stay somewhere long term and create a dynasty. And I believe he will do that wherever he goes next. Yes he's not perfect but do people not see a bit of Fergie in him? The guy is a serial winner. Will be the draw for major players just as Pep will be for City.

Yes he will ruffle feathers - is that not the position we are in though? Exactly what we need?

I don't think it wil happen personally. I don't think the United board have got the bottle for it. So we will end up with a manager without Premiership or Champs League winning experience. We will give him another £250m then be scratching our heads when it doesn't work out in 2/ 3 years. Then we will do exactly the same again and again.

I make no apology for the sentiment that Mourinho, much maligned as he is, can be the saviour of this club. He was the standout candidate along with Guardiola when Fergie retired and he remains so now.

Shappy fergie let a few go because of his ego do not need to name them and as far as contraversy he as been no different to moriniou spelling it is late and had a few heis a born winner and there are not many about klopp was going to make the sh e world beaters he knows now it is going to take a lot longer if he is given the time our problem is woodward and the guicker he has gone the better.
