Iv always had a soft spot for Jose for some reason. Like the way you route for the villain in a good movie. We all know he can be a twunt at times but there's no doubting he gets results. There's a few labels that are thrown at him that I think are unfair as well. "He only plays negative boring football" that's a bit of a loaded one. That Chelsea team in 2005 were fantastic, one of the strongest all round teams ever to play in the premier league. His Madrid team played some great stuff and Chelsea last year did too. He plays negative when he has to and it works.

I don't think we can afford to wait another few years for a Pochettino to implement his style or Conte to get used to the league. LvG will be in charge until he fails his targets. I can't see him staying on after this year so we need to stay in touching distance of the pack and Jose would almost immediately do that.

Bringing academy players through is one of the only romantic things left in football and I agree he's never bothered with that side if it before but you never know, if he's told to bolster the squad with academy players then he'll have no choice. And I think we can all agree, having players there for the sake of it isn't helping anyone. If they're good enough they'll play.

Onto the football he plays argument. As I said, he plays effective football and has a tendency to turn on the style too.

The most important thing is though he'll have players willing to play for him. Every man and his dog will want to go to city and Jose will be the antidote for that. The club is looking into changing the youth structure but you won't see the fruit that produces for years. Jose keeps us competitive while we sort the rest of the club out. I'm sure I'll get slated but I think it's an incredibly crucial moment in our history and we need to be selfish and employ a winner.

Cheers.

Jose is a divisive figure though. And as such he doesn't always have the players behind him and playing for him. There are those who love him and will run through brick walls for him. But for every one of those there is one who hates him. Ask Sergio Ramos or Iker Casillias what they think of Jose. And at what point this season did any of the Chelsea players look like they would run through walls for Jose?

We have gone past the point of being able to be competitve with City in the short term. Games are won by players and how many do we have that would get into the City team?
DDG, Shaw and Schneiderlin. Of which one has a long term injury and is not garenteed to rediscover his previuos form (It took Ramsey 2 years) and one who is likely to move in the summer.

To compete with City on the pitch we need 10 or more new players, that takes a couple of years to bring in that number of players. Then it takes time for them all to bed in. We wouldn't look to be competing with City until Pep's third year incharge. Which if we hired Mourinho would be his third year in charge or historically the year it all blows up in his face.

In the mean time he would drag our name through the mud, and ignore our youth system.

He just isn't the man for the job. Far too many negitives.

Mumbles,

I also agree and think the people against him will change their minds if we do get him, think he is the best person out there available with the ego to take on this huge challenge.

I don't quite get the anti Jose feeling. How many coaches out there are there with a good enough calibre to take over. One of the most decorated managers in football history and he still has many years left in him. Yes he has possibly a flawed character but I remember many moments in Saf's career (BBC, rock of gibraltar, boot gate, pizza gate, tea cup gate, to name a few) . I don't necessarily want the club to be adored by bringing in a soft manager who's got whichever team playin nice stuff for whoever they currently manage. I don't mind us being disliked even hated by the majority because then I know we are doing something right. Regardless there where a lot of reports in Italy several weeks ago that mourinho is taking over in the summer and I think there could be something to those reports with Lvg leaving a year early. I wouldn't mind at all if that happens.

Shappy, I'd imagine Ramos and Casillias didn't like Jose because they've run Madrid for years and didn't like their power shifting away from them and I don't think we're 10 players away from City's squad. We play City twice a year. The worst they can do is take 6 points of us if even. It's then up to us to beat the rest of the league. You're telling me Jose can't fine tune this squad to at least make us competitive again. And "Jose blows up in his third season" good ol pep will be off after 3 years like he's probe to do. Jose is natural born winner and 1 of very few elite managers. We are slowly falling out of the top echelons of football. I think it's a no brainer.

I've said it before and will again, if we get jose I honestly think out of respect for sir Alex and the club that he would be on he's best behaviour and I also think he will build a legacy with us, I've always wanted him and would choose him over pep if I had the choice, but I also worry he would be here by now while we've still got a chance of top 4 spot.
