Hi Eds n Friends.

There have been much talk of getting Jose as the next manager, but what do you peoples think about Conte? I think he's a very good manager. He was the man behind Juventus' revival as the best italian club.

Will be waiting for your opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would probably be my first choice with Pochettino a close second.

He has experience, a great tactical knowledge, and gives youth a chance. He has worked well under restrictions, and has bought well also.

im not a big fan of his style of play 3 or 5 at the back .
only had 3 year at the highest level in club football .
never managed outside italy and struggled in the EC with juventus .

Actually jred he was more known for playing 442/ 424 before he took the Juventus job.

The reason he switched to 352 was because he had no natural full backs while also having three of the best CB's in Italy with Chiellini, Bonucci and Barzagli. The formation made best out of the players he had, while also keeping to his ideal of having two strikers up front.

I think he is a very strong candidate.

i didn't watch much of conte bari in serie B to be honest, I've read that's the formation he played there tho (4,4,2)
dont forget he has asked for a 2 year extension with italy and has he not got another match fixing trial coming up?

I didn't catch much of him there either but have an Itailan friend who is a massive Juve fan. He had kept a close eye on Conte with him being a former player, and there being a strong chance he could end up back at Juve. As it was that was the way it played out.

He is due to appear in court but as a witness, he is no longer under suspiscion.

He has shown an interest in the United job in the past, and I'm sure he would again if the job was offered to him.

a preliminary hearing will take place on February 18 regarding allegations Antonio Conte and 103 other people committed match-fixing felonies, .

he was a witness last year and got banned a couple of years ago . this is a new charge.

02 Feb 2016 14:10:10
his last ban was to do with his time at bari the new one is due to his time at siena.

Hmmm I was unaware of that, I will speak to my friend in Italy before I say anymore about it as atm I flying blind.

All I will say is that of the original match fixing claim, he has always stated his innocence. The case revolved around an owner supposedly sending a message at half time for the team to lose the match. They went on to win 5-0. Conte says no message was ever sent to the dressingroom with only one player saying it was, and every other player and memeber of staff backing Conte in his belief that no message was sent. At the time my friend who admittedly may be biased reffered to it as a witch hunt, and they needed a big name to take the fall to protect those really at fault.

ask anyone in jail, they are all innocent .

02 Feb 2016 15:03:33
True, but to have only one person accuse you from a room of 25-30 people would imo seem to be more likely your innocent and one person has a grudge or an agenda.

02 Feb 2016 15:46:01
shaps there was more than one person .
also he was found guilty by the italian fa and the  Court of Arbitration for Sport when he took it to them .

02 Feb 2016 16:36:13
Seriously Jred, only one person in that changing room said it happened. Several people outside it may have said it happened. But there was only one witness in the case involving Conte.

The Italian FA wanted to be seen to be doing something about it. But his punishment was reduced from 10 months to 4 months in an appeal with the CAS.
Also do you really believe if the Italian FA really thought him guilty they would them make him the national team manager. Very few people in Italy think he was guilty and the evidence against him was very weak.

It was a witch hunt.

he was found guilty by two different courts .
if it had been jose you would go nuts .
you have gone on about conte to the extent that you think you know better than 2 courts.

{Ed001's Note - it is the Italian FA bit that made me laugh, they are in the middle of yet another corruption saga right now, why on earth would they care if Conte was in trouble?}
