Was having a banter with one of my friend ( A city Fan) over few players.
Would like to know your thoughts on this whether they are over rated or not.
I will post mine as well.

hard to say if they are over rated but all good players.

Any of them will help this utd team play better apart from bale, Higuain or Gundogan?

Over rated?

James Rodriguez - Yes (One quality world cup performances doesn't make you world class)

Bale - No (Just needs a opportunity to be the "man")

Benzema - No (One of the best strikers going, struggling to think who actually better than him, maybe Lewandowski)

Raboit - Yes (A little over-hyped, think he has a bit of a attitude problem)

Hummels - Yes/ No (The guy missed his opportunity leaving a few years ago for a elite club, I think he has declined the past year, I think he could do a Christoph Metzelder if not careful, needs to either commit to Dortmund or look to a move to the Premier League)

Herrera - No (Just needs to be given the chance to play his game, reminds me of Pablo Aimar likes to play one touch football)

Ramos- No (Name me a better Centre Back? )

Higuain - No (Goalscoring ability world class, must get service to effective though, RVN anyone? )

Gundogan - Yes (Injuries, attitude, his head has turned and a shell of the player he was, I wouldn't want him at United, think Weigl is more promising, reminds me of Nuri Sahin before he went to Real Madrid)

Herrera and Gundogan are both overrated. Benzema is underrated, he is a class striker.

James Rodriguez - Yes
Bale - No
Benzema - no
Raboit - Yes
Hummels - no
Herrera - Not
Ramos- no
Higuain - yes

I'll take bale ramos and benzema any day. James Rodriguez is the most overrated of the lot.

All overrated bar Bale and Benzema.

I do not understand why we would be interested in James Rodriguez, another slow number 10 who would struggle in the pace of our game for me. Of the list Bale is the main man, Herrera needs to be allowed to play and Hummels is a maybe.

James Rodriguez - Yes
Bale - Yes (never going to be worth his price tag)
Benzema - no
Raboit - Yes
Hummels - no
Herrera - Yes
Ramos- no
Higuain - yes
Gundogan - yes.

Rodriguez - yes, but if he can produce his world cup form on a regular basis then no.

Bale - yes, obviously. Very good player, but not in the same bracket as Neymar, Suarez or Aguero. He has pace and power, take that away from him as time will and he becomes a very average player. Certainly not 85m worth.

Benzema - Maybe, he is very very good. But would you pick him ahead of Messi, Suarez, Aguero or Lewandowski? Areguably Muller as well?

Rabiot - yes, every youngster is pretty much overrated, until he delivers consistently then he will remain to be overrated.

Hummels - Yes, he makes Fellaini look mobile. And has a howler in him.

Herrera - No, I don't think the world overrates Herrera. But United fans definately do. He is a very good player, but you could name at least 10 midfielders you would pick in your dream team ahead of him.

Ramos - No, he used to be. But he has delivered on his potential and is one of if not the best CB in the world atm.

Higuin - yes, he is no where near as good as he is made out to be. His finishing is poor for a striker and he lacks any kind of pace.

Gundogan - Yes, he was a fantastic player a few years ago. But like many of his colleagues he benefitted from the system Klopp was playing at Dortmund. How good did Bender, Hummels, Subotic, Pizchek, Kagawa, Sahin and Gotze look in that team as well? And how good did they look playing for either their national side or another club side once they moved? It was a team that was greater than the sum of its parts.

out of all them players bale is the one that would make the biggest difference to this united team.

I would your right on the money with that one jred. We need pace, goal scoring ability and some directness added to our play. All these things Bale brings. Where as most of the others play in positions we either don't have a dire need for or as in the case with Ramos, Bale would make a more telling contribution as people understand goals better than tackles.

In saying that though Bale is still massively overrated. If he was Polish and made his breakthrough in Serie A he certainly wouldn't have cost Real Madrid half as much as he did. The press in England tends to hype up players playing in the EPL. And with the media coverage the EPL gets this massively inflates their standing in world football.

Bales an excellent player, he just isn't as good as the media will have you believe. Which makes him overrated.

in his last season in the epl i think he was as good as any player i have seen in the league.
he has also been amazing for wales more influential for his national team than any other player i can think of.
injuries is the one thing that holds him back imo .
and playing second fiddle to ronaldo.

Would love Ramos, Benzema and Higuain in our team.
