The fact that LVG has openly expressed an interest in Ronaldo suggests the possibility that there is no chance of him coming. This is a major change of transfer strategy for a manager that has been loathed to name transfer targets. We could do without more transfer-egg on our faces as a club.
At least I hope this is the case, as Ronaldo should be nothing more than an incredible memory. His ego and questionable team-ethic goes against everything that has taken United to where they are now. He never covered his full-back in all the years he was a United player (not a complaint. but is a fact), and he definitely won't start now. I cannot see LVG accepting that irrespective of how good Ronaldo is. or will be by the time we get him.
So, hopefully this is a smokescreen or even a tactic to make Bale or some other high value target concerned they may miss out on a move. Whilst I don't necessarily believe that, ultimately there has to be a reason why LVG is discussing Ronaldo.

Yeah ed, go to Madrid to negotiate for Ronaldo, then while they're distracted sneak Bale out the back and bundle him into a van.

I guess transfer window is upon us and we should expect some of the strangest theories lol.
How about most top players play for top teams who have ambitions not too far from our domestically and in europe and in some cases even higher and will not sell in January any key players.
I would not hold my breath on a big name signing but maybe more about buying to cover the gaps and squad strength and numbers since we have now lost Shaw and Valencia for the season.
I think we will buy young players who will give us minimum 5 years and have some resale value.

Don't be surprised if we go again for player's in January. Some players will be desperate to move clubs if only to get in next summer's Euro squads 😆😆.
